U.S is the one who supplied nations with chemical weapons to kill civilians.

So go on post the link so we can discuss this outrageous comment more.

Conservatives are bad at comedy, Liberals are bad at being huge blowhards with nothing substantial to say.

Have you seen Dennis Miller lately?

No. And I think that's the point.

Now that's a nice guy. I wouldn't mind Fox giving him the half hour instead.

Ugg, I watched one episode of that and never again. It's as if they're letting the news writers do the jokes; you start with the joke and spice it up with politics, not the other way around.

Given the current presidential administration, it's kind of hard not to make fun of the Republicans. Presumably, as soon as the Democrats hold the office of the presidency, they'll get skewered too. It isn't too hard to imagine just how much fun The Daily Show might have had with the Clinton Administration.

From what I saw I thought this show was hillarious. Playing on all of the liberals worst nightmares. IE - Rush is Pres and Anne Coulter is VP.

I've seen that said a few places. "It's funny because the liberals are so angry about it!"

The fact is, very few people (if any) actually care. Especially since no one is going to watch it and it will probably be canned within a month. The biggest problem is it's a 'comedy' show that just isn't funny.

i'd like to see o'reilly get involved with that show. or is it that he already produces it?

come to think of it, o'reilly doing a dubyuh impersonation would be something i'd pay to watch. they have a remarkably similar weaslely looking scowl that could be hilariously exploited. they just need to find people willing to play cheney and condi. that would spike the show to blockbuster proportions.

I usually listen to Rush during the day, I despise him but he is entertaining but

that Skit was awful. No humor, not funny. Ann coulter was so stiff trying to hide her Adam's Apple and you could tell she just wanted to jump Rush.

Rush is just getting chunkier everyday. Probly not helping his Back none

the first episode of the daily show was just as bad, complete with the laugh track. I take it you made the same declaration about the daily show as well?

trust us, you won't be missed.

It's the first episode, it was pretty funny. I think it will get better as they start to iron out exactly what they want to do.

I didn't see this, but Daily Show was maybe 35 - 40% as good back in the days before Jon Stewart. And yes they did used to make fun of Liberals then just as much as they do conservatives now. Really there's just not as much stupidity going on in the Democrats right now. Give em time though and Jon will find something if it's there.

The Daily Show now is about 90% as good as it was when the two Steves (Colbert and Carell) were on it, which was about 3 years ago now. But honestly, I wouldn't change it for the world. Carell has done some very good things with his acting (40 Year Old Virgin was hilarious, and The Office is incredible) and Colbert made his own thing, which I watch whenever I watch the Daily Show, now.

When did the Daily Show become a world-wide thing? Back when I was a junior in high school (4 years ago) it was still kind of a niche show which a lot of people maybe knew about but didn't watch. Now everyone who's anyone knows about it.

You're very right. I've wondered that myself.. maybe Colbert getting his own show helped and the increase in political appeal of the younger generation?

Exactly. Dennis Miller had a rather decent nonpartisan shitck. He stuck it to whomever deserved a prod. But for some reason he became a 'wearing my blinders for Bush' tool on CNBC or CNN or wherever his crappy show lingered.

He went from intelligent/insightful humor to partisan hack. Is anyone actually surprised that partisan hack isn't funny?

Bill Mahrer is marginally better but the sad part is that Dennis Miller is a much better comedian. So which do you prefer . . . a mediocre comedian (Mahrer) or a good comedian that's forgotten how to tell a joke?

As for Faux, the whole network is silly. And silly usually stops being funny somewhere around puberty . . .

I saw the Rush clip posted on Fark and I saw a comment that sumed it all up nicely.

"Brettster808

Watching a conservative comedy show is kind of like listening to Christian Rock. All the elements are there but it just doesn't make much sense.

As an aside, does anyone remember MTV's Half Hour Comedy Hour back in the 80s? It is rather unoriginal that this new comedy show is named FOX's Half Hour News Hour."

It was pretty bad. I stopped watching it once I realized they were using a laughter track.

A failure, much like the Fox News network will be looked at in retrospect (or if you're intelligent, right now).
