What instruction manual Games have nothing but codes inside them. Well, unless you bought it at GameStop.
*snap*
Not to mention the instruction manual would probably be missing too!

I've not bought any console games recently that didn't ship with manuals. Can you cite any examples?
The game manuals are digital for the following games I purchased on disk for PS4 and Xbox One
Killzone Shadow Fall
Forza 5
Dead Rising 3
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Why don't people who object just say "no thanks" and move on to the next store? I am absolutely puzzled by this.
A ha I dont have the new consoles
Games stopped including paper manuals recently. If you go back to around the launch of the 3DS, some games still had paper manuals. Then things moved to digital manuals, but a few games had a very short paper manual with some key controls as well. And then a while after that, it became rare to even get the control sheets.
I can't remember the last game I receive that had a paper manual in it that wasn't a CE. Which is part of the appeal of CE versions, I guess, since they often have an OK manual/guide included with them.
Its a little sad you have to pay extra now though, since I remember some games as a kid, where the included guide/manual was pretty extensive, and other games had audio CDs included for no extra charge. Specific examples I can think of, were Homeworld PC, which included a full prima strategy guide, and audio CD, and Grandia 2, which had a guide and also included an audio CD. Nowadays, those would qualify as "collectors" or "limited" additions, and there would be a 20 dollar markup on the price!
Everything's been downhill since Day of the Tentacle.
I hate Gamestop right now. When to grab a few < $10 360 exclusives to pad my library... and... what is it with ALL used 360 cases, cover inserts, and manuals looking like they have been run over by a truck?
Crushed under the weight of the yearly COD and Madden.
One of the few non Gamestop stores here wanted $90 for a copy of Baten Kaitos Origins for GameCube and had similar prices on "rare" or RPGs or heavy Mario and Pokemon taxes on everything else.
I bought Baten Kaitos Origins right then and there for $27 on EBay in better condition before I left that turdhole reseller I won't be going back to. At least Gamestop has better than eBay prices sometimes, combined with points and buy some/get one promos on top of it.

That wasn't really my point. A purchase is an agreement of two parties. GS hands out a product, buyer agrees and exchanges money. What makes you think that I (or others who expressed frustration towards Gamestop in this thread), still shop there?
No kidding, and sometimes it's on a game that isn't even rare.
"Oh you want Twilight Princess? $60"
Or...I'll go online, and never come back.
I got TP and The Zelda CE for GameCube both $20 each off Craigslist before a reseller managed to get them. Both of those are normally $40+
TP on GameCube is actually pretty rare.

I don't understand the complaining, if it is something the purchaser agreed upon. If you don't like the terms, don't buy it. But to voluntarily agree and then proclaim your "hatred" later, is just odd to me.

Thing that pisses me off about Gamestop is the price they're asking for Xenoblade Chronicle. $69.99 for a used copy.. are you fricking kidding me?
Its actually a new copy, a reprint.
Someone saw what they were going for on eBay, decided to subcontract it for reprint themselves, and then because they are under contract and legally obligated to sell new at MSRP, which is $39.99, they remove the shrink wrap and call it used for what was originally $89.99.
I'm really starting to loathe the existence of eBay. Can't buy anything anyone without someone bringing up eBay prices now and inflating theirs .
When I buy a game myself, I'm pretty picky about condition as well, on both the game, and case + manual. Unfortunately though, said case and manual tend to weather better than the actual discs. I definitely would not miss optical media if it were all to be replaced by high capacity cartridges or large memory cards. Can't do internet only though. Show stopper right there. :whiste:Not even just crushed.
Talking inserts removed and ripped or drown in soda, cases with broken corners or disc retention hubs, clear plastic insert sleeve looking like it was assaulted with a fork and a lighter, etc. Or the manual was used as a dinner plate.
Only used 360 games. PS3 and Wii U cases may be used but definitely not the abuse that any 360 game I want always suffers.
I only FINALLY found an acceptable condition Lost Odyssey. Trying to backfill my 360 library and I had 3 copies of Infinite Undiscovery in my hands and none of them acceptable condition.
I guess dude bros like this just don't take care of their stuff:
