They will preorder any game you want. If you want a game on pc you can preorder it and have a copy shipped to the store for you at release. That may be the only copy they get but they do sell pc games. Just because they dont stock 500 copies of battlefield 4 for pc doesn't mean they dont sell them.
I can do that with amazon except replace store with my mailbox. And if your reply is that I won't get it on release day a 1-2 day lead at GS is not something that is going to impress stakeholders. There can be no Doug that their bread and butter is consoles, and as more people continue their migration to digital GS will be pushed into obsoletesence.
They did kill gaming. AAA gaming is shit these days; if it doesn't contain QTE moments, k001 tak3d0wnz, and an arbitrarily-dramatic story line explicitly slapping the player in the face with the drama dong (looking at you, TLoU)...gamers don't pay attention.
I like both physical and digital copies of games, but if my disc drive breaks like my 360 did, then I have a bunch of games I can't play Also have you heard of anyone's digital copy getting revoked or "taken back"? I haven't.

Valve removed a game called Order of War from everyone's libraries even if you bought it. No refunds.
Also the possibility of servers being gone so you cannot authenticate your library is very real.
I'm assuming this was on PC? Also if the game servers are gone it wouldn't matter if you had a disc or not.

My stores don't have them either. But if you order online and have it shipped to the store or your house they will get you the pc game. They also have their own downloader program for digital downloads. Pretty much everyone jumped on the digital band wagon after steam.
Even best buy has digital downloads or you can choose to pick up in store. My best buy always has pc games in discs but lately that isle has shortened. The games are still available online though.

Maybe you just need a break for a while. You don't have to buy the new $60 games the marketers tell you. Get a PS3 with Playstation Plus and there are a bunch of games that are free with that, and good ones, too.Meh I'm leaning toward being done with gaming. Its getting to be expensive for what I'm getting. I think gaming from here is just increasing disappointment and decreasing value for your money. Just look at Forza 5 and XB one. Its like half a racing game, 200 cars down from 500 which I understand because of the higher res designs its just the kicker is they are going to be released later as DLC. 7 Tracks or something like that? No rain/snow/rally driving? How is that next gen, lol.
Titanfall is a generally content-less multiplayer game. Besides knocking it a bit, I do think I will enjoy it, its right up my alley type of thing. Its just that similar games without a single player or much content end up in the $5 game bin in about a month. I'll be getting it for the 360, I don't know why people are so convinced its going to sell xb one consoles. The only true exclusive for xb one so far is forza 5. Never in gaming history have I seen so many games ported over to the older system.
Maybe I'm just outgrowing it, who knows.

Here's a little help on the comment I made:
-Origin allows you to play the game as soon as it is available without going into any retail store so its ready on your computer. It downloads through the internet prior to release so it is ready to play at midnight.
-If you buy in store, it would require you to drive to the store location on midnight, wasting more time, only to return home and have to enter the key so you could then take the time to load the game.
