yea the sounds of texas. they normally start up a hour or so before the sun goes down and stop when its dark. are the ones in IL the same as the ones in Texas? they make a sounds like a cricket it starts off slow then gets really fast and sometimes the sound goes up and down in pitch.

Its loud as hell now during the day. The night isn't too bad...if it stays warm during the night though, they start up their little orchestra and go all night. I can hear them in my car with my music blaring while I drive down the street...very annoying.

I remember the DC metro area got invaded by those a couple years ago... They are loud. When you stepped outside, it would sound like there was a giant UFO hovering over your head. And you couldn't walk on the sidewalks without either getting hit by one or stepping on one. In some places, they would drown out the noise of lawn mowers. I heard something like this happens in our area once every 20 years or so.
