Well duh. Obviously the weapons vanished before the troops arrived to the site. Noone is saying that the troops arrived there and then gave the explosives away. The point is they didn't secure the weapons sites fast enough to prevent the weapons from vanishing, because they didn't have enough troops to do that. It seems to me if you are starting a war to prevent weapons from falling into hands of terrorists, you should actually make sure weapons don't fall into hands of terrorists.

Think about this logically for just a moment if you can. How can you secure something in the middle of a country before you occupy it? I think you're either trying to save face or you are really, really stupid.

Think about this logically yourself. If you are invading a country to prevent WMD's from falling into hands of terrorists, and you know there is a site with dual use explosives, and you invade the country with insufficient number of troops and fail to secure that site and those dual use weapons fall into hands of terrorists, doesn't that mean that you have allowed to happen the very thing you were trying to prevent. Saddam's weapons have fallen in the hands of terrorists.
I know you aren't trying to save face, so I am left with the conclusion that you are really really stupid.

Wow. I really didn't think a person could be this thick.

My hat is off to you.

Well, at least you aren't disputing my arguments. You can attack me personally all you want.

Trying to reason with you appears futile.

I don't think it is an attack, merely an observation.

Yes, your lack of reasoning skills makes it so.

Has anyone thought to themselves just how appropriate his nick is? Reasoning with people who think only with their knee-jerk emotions in the face of facts that destroy their argument is useless at best. Liberals never care about facts or accountability where their points of view are concerned.

The question was could a draft come back, and the answer is yes, it could. Whether it will or will not, it's hard to argue that it couldn't.
I am done with this turd, move it to P&N.
You can now resume your regularly scheduled circle-jerk, already in progress.

On more than one occasion.

the tought that people get forced to join the army, then sent to Iraq etc. where they die in the thousands is NOT really funny.

Do you also laugh when you see other people die in wars on tv ? Eg...in countries where they have been drafted/force-enlisted (like in most other countries)...and then die whether they support their government/cause or not ? (They dont have a choice btw.)

>>>why does bush keep getting tied to this?
who else ? bush is sending people to iraq.
Bush, together with the other "gulf-war I veterans/generals" powell etc..etc..which make up this "government".

I do not BELIEVE there will be a draft....but on the other hand i would not be surprized THE LEAST if there was. (Eg. after elections).

No one is going to bring back the draft voluntarily since it's political suicide, but that doesn't mean that I'm sure we won't see it. There are numerous enemy nations that the government may decide to go in to conflict with(Iran, Syria, NK, etc), and with our current engagements, the armed forces are already looking pretty stretched out(the number of Oregon reservists on duty is just shocking). As I see it, if we do enter another simultanious conflict, there may not be much of a choice considering the current manpower.

Just tell me what your quote means. If the explosives weren't there when the US arrived, how could we secure them in the first place? Is it really that confusing to you, or are you waiting for something on leftwing.com to tell you what to say? Use your brain man. Or is that asking too much?

What gives the President of the U.S. the power to reinstate a draft? The answer is very simple, he can't. There must be a law passed through the House and Congress in order for this to happen. Everyone knows this will not happen.

My own PERSONAL opinion is that it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for our country though.

This just in:

WASH TIMES: Russian special forces troops moved many of Saddam Hussein's weapons and related goods out of Iraq and into Syria in the weeks before the March 2003 U.S. military operation, The Washington Times has learned. John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, ?almost certainly? removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad.

Gee....if that is true then it is highly possible that they moved other weapons to Syria as well, specifically the ones that liberals thougth were there right before the war and then said weren't there in almost 10 years after we occupied the country.

Did you watch the Rumsfeld peice on Frontline? Is Shinseki "blowing it out of proportion"? When we invade NK do you think it's gonna be a cakewalk like Iraq?

I find it amusing that people on here are saying, with confidence, what Bush will do and what he won't do. He can say he'll give everyone who votes for him 5 dollars but does he have to follow through with it? The draft will most likely not be reinstated but there is no definite answer because no one can look into the future.
