I think, in order to make an accurate determination, that you would have to take into account Population. By default California, New York, and a few other States would have a lot of crazy simply because of their population size.

Was going to say this. The coolest person I ever met when I lived in Florida was from NH, of course she would always have the last laugh because Ohio is no beacon of mental sanity.

Another vote for New Hampshire, most people are fairly reasonable, all the way up to state government.

You pay for it in the winter though.

Well Florida gets kind of screwed because it's got weird locals on the interior and even weirder transplants from other states living on the coasts, especially the gulf side. I lived near Bradenton in Cortez and around winter time I used to play a game of how many license plates I would see from other states before seeing a Florida one. They were all driving terribly slow, so I had plenty of time to play my game.
