The new MacBook is out

I just took the plunge into the macbook...A good upgrade from a half broken compaq...just getting used to the feel

It's too late. If you own a Mac and like it, before long you'll be prioritizing Mac upgrades over your Windows box (even if your Mac can't play games). I'm getting to the point myself where I'd rather get a next-gen console than do the PC upgrade shuffle. It's cheaper!

I've become the same way. I haven't upgraded my pc box in years, I think its still running an Athlon XP 1600. I'm saving up for a new MacBookPro, once I get that, I can do away with my PC box. That and I will be getting the Nintendo Wii when it comes out.

I was thinking of getting new memory...Should I get 1 GB or go for the plunge and get a whole 2?

Depends on what you want to do. If it's just surfing the web, writing the occasional paper, and doing light photo editing, then 1GB should be enough. If you're a software developer using that memory hog otherwise known as Java, then 2GB is in your best interests. Or if you're into heavy photoshop work or doing lots of web development then more memory is better and with the MacBook you should really get your memory in equally sized pairs. Therefore 2GB should be what you get.
