Waterston and Krumholtz are both great pieces of the show and I agree that more therapy session shows would be fun. I loved how they used it to go back and forth and tell the story. I didn't see West Wing so it was pretty new and fresh to me.
Munn, to me, is the breakout star of this show and I hope they realize it. I was worried about her after the first episode or two but she seems to get better with each week. Maybe it is the writers breaking her character out of her shell or she is just getting more comfortable or something, but she is much better.
Of course, this show would not be what it is without Dumber Daniels pulling the ultimate 180 in the lead role. I have to say that this show would not be the same without his stalwart lead being pulled upon by his many vulnerabilities and quirks. It really does make for highly interesting TV.
All pretty much agreed. I was never a fan of Munn, and up until this episode severely doubted if she could act at all, but in this last ep she really shone.
Everyone in the entire cast is good to excellent, and let's not forget that they have the great good fortune of Sorkin giving them the crackerjack dialogue that let's them shine.
You have only to watch, or try to watch, a show like Politcal Animals to see how poorly such a show fares in a lesser writer's hands.
I wonder if
a certain, would-be, prominent forum film critic has the intellectual and critical flexibility and fortitude to reconsider his somewhat rash decision to jump on the trendy "hate on Sorkin" bandwagon. I mean really, Sorkin has repeated certain basic phrases more than once over his multi-year, multi-project career? The horror!
The Newsroom is as good as anything on TV at this time, and Aaron Sorkin, its creator, is the underlying reason why. Credit where credit is due!
