Here's something I don't understand...when people say that this new iPad isn't enough of an improvement, what more exactly could they have done? Besides a better processor, of course. I guess a better FaceTime camera.
To be honest, I don't know. That said, I got my iPad 3 this morning and since I sold my iPad 2 on Monday have been without since then. Other than the screen being sharper, I can't tell a bit of difference while using it. Some stuff might be negligibly faster, icons are blurrier (until updates come out), but restoring from iCloud backup has this iPad feeling exactly the same.
I really wanted the upgraded screen, since its almost like looking at a printed page, but I doubt I'll use the camera. I did get the VZW 4G LTE version but haven't tried that yet.
Physically (apart from the screen) I did notice the increase in thickness, which I like honestly, and I think they changed the home button from my iPhone 4. Feels mushier. I'm fine with that too.
Overall I feel like its worth upgrading from an iPad 1 (or none at all) but if you're happy with iPad 2 you could skip it. Just don't compare the screens. I did also get an Apple TV, and AirPlay Mirroring is pretty fricking sweet! Just can't wait to JB it so I can have it access remote HDDs without iTunes being open.
Also, for what its worth, I have a corner of my screen where it isn't bonded correctly or something and has pretty bad backlight bleed. I'll take it back in a week or so when I have time.
