It doesn't seem like there is a way which is rather disappointing. They say there's more features to come so I'm crossing my fingers that's one of the things. You should be able to hit a button to make it dis/reappear.

I bet Nintendo is seeing nice boost in Gamecube controllers and game sale from Wii owners.

As for VC games I don't have much interest as I have most of the originals in cart format along with the systems.

Remember this is only a trial version. I'm thinking the full release version (which will be $5) will have more features.

RE4 is hard! the people take so many hits to kill! it seems like if you shoot them in the head they die instantly but i am having major troubles aiming and it doesn't seem to work every time.

you can't turn off your wii with the remote if you are playing a GC game, that sucks.

I get plenty of messages when I play Wii Sports or about daytime usages...

Also I don't know if it's my connection but I can NEVER download the browser. It keeps erroring out.

I understand that Wiis are sold in limited quantities, and I guess I lucked out, but I was confused as to why everyone was saying how difficult it was to get theirs. I got mine on the first shipment after launch and I waited in line a total of 1 hour.

There's a promotional deal to get a 2000 point Wii card if you sign up for a trial membership of one of those romance sites. I'm not posting the link here because I don't have it on hand, you can probably find it pretty easily with google.

I think it may have to do with Nintendo's promise and everyone's speculation of NO SHORTAGE.

Why wait in line an hour when you expect to be able to walk into just about any store and just take one off the shelf? This shortage has been really unexpected, Nintendo probably didn't expect it either since they had shipped so many units. They're really doing great with this console.

That sounds about right. The average person wouldn't expect to have to plan ahead by asking when the store would get their next shipment or by being there so early.

I am going to be buying my brother a game for Christmas (late, I know ). He already has Zelda. What game would be pretty fun and has some replay value?

Single, or multi-player? Trauma Center is great (But short). I hear Elebits is really good too. For multi, Rayman.

It also has to do with the area. I live in an area with over 500k people and 4 walmarts, 2 targets, a gamestop, a best buy and a circuit city. That's nine stores to choose from. When they release them here, a line starts the evening before. So you have to expect to wait in line for a minimum of 8 hours (at night, 15 degrees). I've driven by around 11:00pm to see 50-75 people in line for 15 consoles.

Well probably both. He has played trauma center (rental) and thought it was OK but definitely not a game to buy.

How is rayman for single? he will play multi some but probably a lot of the time by himself.

Fire Emblem
Mario Kart Double Dash
Mario Power Tennis

Other top GC games:
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
Wind Waker
Paper Mario

The only problem with that is, he doesn't have a gamecube controller, only the classic/wiimote.
I was planning on buying him the zelda strategy guide and a game. He has been havign trouble beating certain parts of zelda and I think he would appreciate it.

I already bought him a lot of wii points for his birthday a few weeks ago, so that rules those out too.

We weren't supposed to be exchanging gifts but I was told that he got me something so here we are.

Is Tony Hawk out for Wii? If so, how are the controls? He has owned pretty much every tony hawk game so far..
Edit: I see Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam is out. How is it?

Tony Hawk 4 is also one of the best GameCube games according to Gamespot, but I skipped over most of the sports games when I was listing them: http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/sports/tonyhawksproskater4/index.html

The two I listed (Mario Kart and Mario Tennis) you don't really have to enjoy most sports games to enjoy... I don't like any of the realistic sports games other than the NHL games, but I love those two games (and I enjoy the Backyard sports titles too )

Age of Mythology is RTS I believe? RTS doesn't translate well to consoles, but Battalion Wars is pretty good (http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action...derfire/index.html?q=battalion%20wars). It's not RTS, but it has similar elements. Although I wish they made it more like a tactical RPG like the rest of the series (see Advance Wars, and the older Wars games on the Famicom)

Well just got back from the mad house (walmart)

Got my brother Rayman and the zelda strat guide.

There were hardly any GC games so I just decided to pick on randomly. If he doesn't like it he can exchange it

They had 2 60 GB and 1 20 GB PS3's yesterday. The 60 GB's sold, but the 20 GB is still there. I thought I would be more tempted to buy it than I was, but I'd rather have a Wii.

Every time a PS3 comes in, my cousin who works there calls me before they put them out. so once they get some Wii's in, I"ll have one!
