As far as I know, it does not prompt you. It always goes to the main memory.. which I don't really get. Can I move my VC games to SD maybe? I haven't tried yet, but I would suspect you have to be able to.

Or maybe, if you move the save game to an SD card.. delete the one off the main system, the game will automatically scan for it? Anyone willing to try it? heh

Also, this really is driving the want to buy a 42" LCD. Even though it's not HD... c'mon 2007.. bring down the price to below $800 for the name brand stuff... that way the decent off brand stuff will be even cheaper!

Urban Champion? I don't think I've ever even seen or heard of that one.

Let's just say that Urban Champion wasn't worth 5$ back in 1986 either. It's considered one of the worst games ever created. Baseball is horrible too for that matter heh.

OK, so does anyone have a good online source for cheap Wii cables? I don't want to spend $50 on cables and I also don't want to buy it from some website based in Hong Kong.

The Mad Catz store online has them for $20. Shipping will probably be $7.50 for ground.

sigh, I called target and they said they had 3 wiis in stock, I ditch work quick, get there in 10 minutes and they are sold out...(this was yesterday).

what are the 512/1gig cards meant for? saving games or what?

Well Wii already has 512 of flash inside. But yes saving games as it has an external flash drive on it.

Has anyone figured out how to get a gamecube controller to work reliably with virtual console games?

The first time I tried the gamecube controller in Sonic, no matter what I did I couldn't get it working, but a few days later it worked immediately. Now I can't get it working for 2 player in Street Fighter II.

yeah, you'd think they would release some of the more popular games. maybe it has to do with licensing?

Scored a wii this morning at Natomas Target, Sacramento. Had 5 left as of 10:30am

Scoring a Wii is just impossible unless I rot in front of some shore until a shipment comes. Ebay has plenty but they are beyond overpriced and there are none available at online retail shops except for Toys r'us but thats a bundle. My brother has one but he waited in front of a circuit city for 3 hours. I'm not doing that.

I guess its best that I wait until things calm down..maybe by spring I guess. Who knows really.

Walmart stores have a $20 version of the $60 best buy ones (Not gold plated)

I called Kmart (of all places) and she said they have two in stock!! (she said they get about 2 a week). I asked her how long it would take to get there from where I am (I am at work) she said about 30 minutes...I was like dang, well thanks anyhow. (she would have sold it by the time I got there) but she was like 'well, drive safely and if you leave now I will hold it for you'. BS!! I go there 30 minutes later and I got it!

Time to put these best buy gift cards to use and get some games!!



edit : quick question ... should I get the replacement strap or will mine have the new one already?

Also should I pick up a nunchuck or anything? I will get zelda and SMB...my lil brother wants me to get cod3 any recommendations?

If you buy an extra Wiimote buy a nunchuk to go with it. Many games will and do require both. Yours should come with a replacement strap. COD3 is alright, graphics arent great(if thats your thing) and gameplay is OK(controls are iffy sometimes). Red Steel is better I think.

Consider getting Trauma Center it's an amazingly fun and unique game. Madden is also awesome. Pick it up.

I saw some mention of wireless problems - I can't get my Wii online. I'm running WPA-PSK TKIP - it says it's support, it even finds my AP during the scan, but after punching in my password it's unable to connect

yeah, my cousin is having some problems connecting. I could see the AP, but could never really connect (even unsecure).

I played madden for the first time yesterday. I must first say, the graphics are pretty crappy and I couldn't get over that fact. It seemed like the players were stretched vertically as well.

Now to the game ...

I don't know wtf is wrong w/EA but their games just go back in features/quality. I do not understand why this year (on Xbox360 this is the same as well, not only a problem on wii) but if you are playing 2 player, you can see exactly what play your opponent picks. In the previous versions you could atleast hide it or trick them, but in this one, you can see exactly what they pick. Pretty fvcking stupid on EA's part ... but its EA so it's expected.

Now to the gameplay. It's pretty damn cool. It takes quite some time to get used to. You have to either flick your wrist or move your arm to pass the ball. My friend got me quite a few times with the fake snap by holding B and pulling his wrist up (normally to snap you just pull your wrist up). THe juking and stiff arming takes a while to get used to. It was also confusing not having the typical buttons (sprint, spin, dive) controlled by the same finger (let alone hand ... spring you hold Z on the nunchuk, diving you push B on the wiimote on the bottom side with your index fingre, and to spin you press A with your thumb on the top of the wiimote).

So that took a while to get used to. What I did really like was how you power move by pushing your 2 hands forward. I also liked how to make your reciever put his hands up, you had to raise your two hands up over your head like you are actually reaching for the controller. The only downside to this, was that the wire connecting the 2 pieces of the controller whacked me in the face more than once when I went to catch.

All in all it's a refreshing experience which definitely takes some getting used to. Also, scoring with this control setup and getting good plays with this control setup are DEFINITELY much more rewarding than just pushing buttons on the controller with your thumb. This is also definitely a game thats much more fun playing with friends than playing single player.

Not sure of the controls on the Wii, but on the 360 version of Madden you can still hide what play you are picking. I beleive you highlight the play you want to use and hit X which selects it silently, then you move to another play you want you opponent to think you are selecting and Hit A which makes the slection noise and for all intents and purposes, makes it look like you selected that play.

the US market is bigger potentially? They did release here first. If the put wii play here as well, they'd have no remotes AT ALL. And the other countries need to have their own firsts since we got the damn system first.

When will they release maro party, mario kart, etc,etc ... the more populuar games for the virtual console?

I picked up 4000 points for them when they do release . So far I am loving the wireless on the WII (WPA 128bit encryption through 5 walls works great!)

I am just waiting for an online game...hmm hmm any release dates on anything?

I'm annoyed. I've been holding off buying a 4th remote so I could buy it with Wii Play. Now I have to wait even longer.
