Well I like the ability to stream stuff from my pc over to the living room. I don't really need a smart tv since I figured the ps4 will get dlna soon. I used my ps3 for that stuff anyway until then.
My console sometimes looses sound after a resume. I have to shut it down and start up again... Also, my avatar turns into a crossed circle (like "not available"), was using my Facebook photo and suddenly it wouldn't show up (I didn't change anything).
Googling for both issues, a lot of people have had both of them since day 1, pretty much Not fixed yet...

I'd take this with a huge grain of salt but there's a rumour the next firmware will add media playback features already avaiable on the PS3.

Of course that could be just 3D Bluray. The article was posted a couple days ago.
I can't imagine too many people have been waiting for 3D bluray support. I'm sure these people exist but, most people don't own 3D tv's. Those who do own then don't always like the 3D mode. And most people who are buying a ps4 and own a 3D TV probably already have a ps3 or some other 3d bluray player.
I dunno...I buy a game console cause it is a game console. I have a blu-ray player etc. This isn't like the ps3 where it was the best and cheapest blu-ray player for a period of time. None of the features people say it needs fills an actual need to me. Between a smart TV, PC, 3D blu-ray player, phone that can cast to my TV, and network receiver...I am covered.
I guess if you don't have anything to offer that functionality you look at it differently.
I don't want to use workarounds. I wanted to use my Facebook profile to control this and not put a picture that is the same as on my Facebook. I have since set it back to my original psn avatar and sticking with it.The image problem is a facebook issue. Facebook isn't syncing to PSN properly.
The work around is to use the Playstation app and upload your picture off your phone and set that as your PSN picture.

I have 8 HDMI ports on my AVR so I'm good thereI prefer one of my game consoles to be my Blu-ray player. AVR HDMI ports are in high demand when you've got a PS4, X1, HTPC and Wii U hooked up! :$ Also, one of the big things is that I only have four quick select buttons, which I really prefer to use for my devices. Oddly enough, I'm terrible at knowing whether my console is "Cable" or "VCR", but I know which is which when it comes to the silly pictures on my Denon remote.

I also either use a harmony remote or my phone via a network control app to change inputs. I know my set up is not the same as everyone's. I was just saying that I think media functions are a distant second in priority for me. I want to see them allow us to put our installed games into folders so I don't have to scroll through 20 icons on the home screen.
That sound issue seems like an HDMI handshake issue. Once I turned off HDMI control on my ps4 I stopped having any problems. My issue with HDMI control was it would turn my TV off when I turned the console on because it was controlling my Sony TV. Maybe turning that off will help with the sound problem too, dunno. As for the profile picture problem it won't be fixed by Sony because Facebook is not theirs. Its up to Facebook to sync properly.

Yeah the Destiny Ghost edition is sold out (not sure if the normal LE is as well). Walmart was actually emailing customers to tell them they couldn't get it because they over sold.

Normal LE appears to be sold out too, I've looked around for it all over the place. Oh well.
I thought they were not doing this until Monday. I guess I'll call my gamestop tomorrow before going in.

I thought it was active now so I just went in with it (Gamestop is two blocks from my workplace) and he knew of the promo, just couldn't get it automated so he did fuzzy math and somehow it got me $30 off. I'll take it.. ()
As for Destiny LE, its the $99 one and it appears sold out everywhere too for the PS4 version. I wonder what the difference between the $99 and $89 digital one is besides the physical media.. I may just end up going that route if it isn't a huge difference.

Oh I didn't even know there was a digital LE. I hate to spend that much on digital though :\

My local store got like 600copies on day one and a further 100 or so more the very next day.Well I called my gamestop and they do have the $25 credit for the ps3 edition of last of us but they would not process the trade in for me. They told me I would have to come in on the 29th and bring the game in. They also mentioned reserving it since they don't get too many copies of the game. But I don't feel like going there to pre-order it right now. Not sure why they wouldn't apply the credit for me.

Now on very obscure niche titles they may sell out or they don't get any unless someone pre-orders. When tearaway came out for vita they got one copy, it was mine because I pre-ordered.
