I did pre-order it myself. Never played it on the PS3 so I'm excited to try it out.

I normally pre order games because you get extra stuff for doing it. Mlb the show gave me 30,000 free stubs which helped my created player a bunch.
NBA 2k14 gave me like 10,000 VC, a Lebron James perk for my created player too.
TLOU supposed to have the dlc, some skins for the characters, increased reload speed, and I think increased crafting time.

I've been watching people stream it on twitch on my ps4 and you can't really tell a visual difference other then the frame rate. There is a HD video on YouTube tho and that video looks really good.

I pre ordered GTA 5, nba 2k15, madden 15, little big planet 3 and the show this year. I'll be buying little big planet 3 digitally tho since it's a game I can play custom levels on whenever I get the itch. I did trials fusion digital on my ps4 too.

Its hard to go digital download because many of the games come out every year and you don't get any price break for going digital which is extremely stupid but oh well. I only download the games I know I'll still play in a couple years.

Even though the streams are now 720p the ps now streams suck for representing a game. It will look much better natively on your tv. I just watch the streams to see how the gameplay on new games plays out.

last of us on ps3 is 720p, i bet it's 1080p on ps4, yes, there is a difference.

Yeah I remember reading that TLOU on PS4 has 4x the texture resolution and draw distance set to incredible levels so there's no more fog of war to obscure the landscape. AA applied at 1080p.

I just hope Tuesday when I go in I won't run into any snags trading my old copy in. Did they say how long the trade promotion lasts? If it's only for Tuesday I dunno if I'll make it in time because I have a ton of errands to run this week.

Target up here in Canada is giving away a free $50 gift card with purchase of a PS4. They've also got all PS4 games $15 off. All it really does is bring the console down to it's original price, but a good deal for those in Soviet Canuckistan who are still on the fence.

Good to know. Hope my store won't run out as many who have ps4 now will probably want to play it. In either case there are several stores I can go to by Aug 2.

And its not surprising to want to play the game again. You can choose to upgrade different weapons, try out more stealth, plus see all the environments in full 1080p.

If you have not tried the dlc that is also another reason to get it all at once. I never tried the multiplayer so I may give it a shot this time.

I know nothing about it. I suppose some people feel locking the FPS is superior to letting it bounce.

The setting sounds confusing actually, but in one of the modes (either at lock 30FPS or don't), the "graphics are upgraded". From what the review said, but didn't mention details because they're not allowed I think (yet) - but maybe textures and fog distance?

Hrm...I don't see why it'd work like that.

Found something here. Says in 30fps lock there are higher quality shadows.

Improved shadows in 30 are added as part of the patch. As we were finishing up the day 1 patch we were looking at the game and released at 30 we had extra cycles we could do some further, unplanned, graphics enhancements – and that turned out to me shadows. Naughty Dog being Naughty Dog – we couldn’t let idle rendering cycles stay that way!

Shadows at 60 are absolutely improved over the PS3 version and the game just looks and runs best at 60. The improved shadows at 30 are a nice bonus – but seriously, not reason enough to play at 30 unless you already needed or planned to lock it… well, it does help a little when you are in Photo Mode, but you can enable that at last minute.

Stick to 60 unless you have to or really do prefer 30. that’s why 60 is the default!

I think 60fps will be where it's at. Course I'll try both but I don't know that I'd really find the shadows that superior. It's usually one of the settings on PC games that makes the least difference.

I remember on the PS3 version it was the animation and movement of objects that made the game beautiful, although I didn't beat it. The graphics sometimes surprised me but it was more the movement of everything. 60FPS will be awesome.

Yea definitely play at 60 on the ps4. The textures in those shots look awesome. Just experiencing the world again at higher resolution and detail is going to make it feel like I'm playing it again for the first time.
Since I forgot much of the area and I'll probably take it even slower this time around.

That's nifty if someone doesn't have the ps3 edition to trade in. Regardless if I didn't have it on ps3 and this was my first time playing it's well worth the $50 bucks.

I hope they do the same for gta v. I've let my buddy borrow it for a while. I'd like to have the good games I enjoyed before updated to the latest console.

Edit: I watched a stream today of some of the multiplayer action and it looks like it's more tactical and seems pretty fun. You can buy and craft items in the session and if you get hurt you don't immediately die unless its a headshot so your team can revive you..but you are an easy target until then.

Definitely requires more cooperation. I didn't do any mp on the ps3 so I'll be giving it a go on the ps4 hopefully tomorrow night if I get my copy.

Not sure if I have you on psn. I brought my ps3 copy to work so I can go do a trade in at lunch if they have copies left. I should be on tonite to try on the multiplayer if everything works out.

Wow my game stop actually did not have any last of us copies left for ps4. I placed a hold this morning at work and picked it up tonite. They said everyone has been coming in looking for it. Five people behind me wanted a copy but I got the last one since I did the online hold thing.
