They can swap the console only if everything else is working. I'd leave it for now and see if it happens a lot and then consider using the warranty.

hmm what do you mean by "everything else is working". besides that problem, the console runs great. I thought the warranty's purpose is for when something isn't working.

Like your controller or power cord or HDMI slot. Me personally I'd take it back everything in the box and get everything new.

Hope they give you a new one. Some warranty plans replace with a refurbished! I don't know the specifics of the GameStop one.

If your controller is feeling funky you can swap it with the console. They can keep everything in the box and just give you the new console otherwise.

It's brand new from the store's stock. They get the box, open it, give you all the components from it that you need, mark it defective and return it to their warehouse which then goes through sony at their cost.

Sony announced next month's PlayStation Plus games (NA).

PS4: Road Not Taken, Fez
PS3: Crysis 3, Proteus
Vita: Metrico, Dragon's Crown

Personally, I'm looking forward to Dragon's Crown out of those!



Yeah, I wonder if Target caught on to the game qualifying for their promotion, and they disallowed it for In-Store Pickup. If I browse to the game on my phone using Target's app, it even says "In-Store Pickup Eligible". However, when you add it to your cart, it will not let you.

Dragon's Crown is going to also be available on PS3. I owned it and absolutely loved it. I still have my maxed out Elf saved on there.

Just saw the August PS4 PS+ items. Totally crap :/ The only games I liked so far for PS4 from the PS+ ones is "Stick it to the man" and "Contrast". Rest is pretty crap (some people like Resogun, I guess...)

I'm sorry, are you paying for PS+ for their amazing free game catalogue? Which was known to mostly be a collection of indie games as it's FREE. Of course not, you're paying for PS+ to play games online, you'd be paying for PS+ even if they didn't give you free games, most people with xbox live were doing just that until a few months ago when xbox started their own free game thing.

Sony makes ~$18 per sale of a PS4 unit. EVERY game except for indie games and smaller arcade games are released at $60. The only games they could give out for free are going to be the arcade and indie titles that aren't $60 as the $60 games sales are the only things making the playstation division money right now as they aren't really making much per unit on the hardware.

What game did you imagine they'd give you FOR FREE less than a year after the console has been out?

Also, the PS3 and vita games are all fairly old games, they're fine to occupy your time for a bit, but they aren't blockbuster must plays.

Crysis 3 for example, if you didn't already buy it, you probably aren't too interested in it in the first place.

You wanna play destiny? Strikes and raids require psn+

The vita and ps3 have years worth of games in the library. A lot of the bigger games on psn+ are old titles that likely don't have a big following any longer and aren't selling well anymore. Super Street Fighter 4 arcade edition was on psn+ at one point. I guarantee that everyone who wanted it already bought it and that is why it went up on there.

You basically need psn + now if you want to play any of the newer games that have multiplayer or online co op functionality. I buy cards only when they are on sale for about $30 every black Friday and for that amount free games are also nice to have.

Yeah that's how I see it. It's great to get some free games and all, but it's not why I pay for PS+. I also try to wait until I see a sale and jump on it. Or when the PSN store is doing $10 back for every $50 spent or something.

I haven't liked many of the free games either. I do enjoy resogun, played some dead nation, finished contrast, but it doesn't mean I'll be downloading all the free games every month.

All the free PS+ games have been indie titles, which is to be expected. Sony's not going to give away their best hand. I agree there's not many that I've actually enjoyed. The PS3 is till getting the creme de la creme. I'll definitely be grabbing Crysis 3 since I haven't played the other games in the series.

IIRC, DriveClub was originally going to be a free PS+ title. Wonder if that's still happening.

You should have not subscribed if all you wanted was $60 games for free. It is a bonus now with the ps4 but not the reason to have it. You should not have expected to get AAA releases all the time with such a new library of titles.

I download every psn+ game that comes out. I try them and delete if I don't like it. No loss. The fact that my psn+ subscription applies to ps3, ps4, and vita means I get 6 games every month. Some of them very good like sly cooper, dragons crown, soul sacrifice, gravity rush, uncharted golden abyss, wipeout and more. So I use psn+ on more than just ps4 and get discounts on games I might want as well.

For the PS4, pretty much. However, that's understandable. Sony doesn't just magically get copies of these games; they have to pay for it. Crysis 3 released about a year and a half ago, and has seen quite a few hefty sales recently, which would lead one to assume that sales have slowed down enough to let Sony pick it up on the cheap. Also, I'm sure Crytek wouldn't mind a bit of a guaranteed cash infusion given their situation. Although, EA has to be on board as well given they're the publisher.

I'm getting a bunch of games in August for $3.33. That's Humble Bundle levels of value and it's been like that since I first tried PS+ November 2012. It's why I signed up and it's why I'm still signed up. It's kind of crazy when a year's worth of games are tallied and I realize I only paid $40 to have access to all of them.
