a lot of people making a lot of assumptions about a lot of games and infrastructure that isn't even out yet...
Because some of us are familiar with how business works.

You're clever, I've not seen this post 5 times in here already.
We haven't seen much of the UI but the TV/NFL experience was demoed here:

Don't most cloud-based services (like EC2) work by people/companies renting a certain amount of processing power and storage? In other words, aren't they more easy to adapt to changes in purpose? So, as long as the server-side code is handled well, a relatively low-population multi-player game shouldn't cause a problem for the publisher/developer to keep it alive since it will use very little of their rented resource pool.
Ps4 units were split up because of the demand. From the best sellers of 2013 link ps4 is ranked #4 and Xbox #6?
Besides pre orders in amazon are free I could pre order an Xbox 1 and ps4 and choose either at launch.
We will need to wait until units are out to validate actual committed sales.
Why do you feel compelled to reiterate that point? So that no one makes the mistake of thinking Sony is not winning the preorder wars? Sony wants you to go hump someone else's leg for a while. :whiste:ill say it again there are 5 PS4 SKUs and 1 xbox SKU
either way, it seems great that it is still easy peazy to find preorders for both ps4 and xbox1. hopefully that means there won't be massive shortages of them like there has been in the past.

I think all the launch consoles have been spoken for already in preorders. I think there is going to be a shortage on both; and some guy will post a video "I have 4 Playstation 4s; you have zero, and I have 4." again.

From what Respawn is saying, they are renting out servers for pretty low cost. And, if it works similar to how their Azure works (which is should, because it is the same thing), you can scale it extremely easily. So, yes, eventually these servers will get shut down, but as long as they are in use, a small number amount of resources can be cheaply used to keep old games alive, if the companies so choose.
It is not even MS's decision, it is developers / publishers that are renting them.

People are going to be selling them on eBay or Craig's list to try and make double the money. But this time around it's nothing too new. Only those that need one now will buy into paying more...example parents that promised the kids a console. I will also see what they go for on craigslist in my area. If I can sell it for more then why not.
Then quit touting it as some awesome advantage when that same advantage can have the plug pulled on it at any time if a publisher can't keep up with it. If they said "as long as publishers keep paying the bill, they can use this feature" instead.
ebay is just filled with fees. Really sucks because that is the best place to sell shoes. Just have to be extremely careful about shipping only to a confirmed address. Otherwise, they just say "oh, never received it" and ebay pretty much automatically sides with the buyer. I've had friends sell things, have the person send an ebay message "send it to <this address please>" and then claim they didn't get it because it wasn't an address with the paypal account. The best part was ebay told my friend if they message was sent on ebay (which it was), he should be okay. But, he still lost and they took $700 from his paypal and he never got his MBA back.
At least with CL you can meet them at a Starbucks and trade the item. The only problem, at least in my area, is how stupid some of the people who reply are. I've listed items, said "NO TRADES" and "TEXTS ONLY" and still get phone calls from people trying to trade me garbage...
i find it funny on slickdeals that the xbox1 preorder thread has 5 thumbsdown, and the ps4 thread over there has 5 thumbsup. and both of them aren't slickdeals at all, they are simply the normal price.

the ps4 one even made front page lol. just goes to show you how obsessed the anti-ms/pro-sony people are with spreading their message.
bit off topic but since we were talking about preorders, and i was just on slickdeals, i mentioned it
Anyone interested in the Xbox One is obviously a heathen who hasn't accepted Sony as Lord and Savior into their heart.
It is rather humorous the length at which people associate themselves with a product.
