I bet if MS had the hw edge it would be a different story
What have we been saying for a while? At first it won't have any differencer, later it may, with exclusives it definitely will.
I'm expecting it to be like it is right now, with the PS3 showing a bit more graphical prowess but not enough to make me care.
If anything, I hope developers quit trying to shove as much lens flare in as they can and develop the AI more this generation. Won't happen, but one can hope.
With all those cores, they could dedicate one of them just to AI if the game needs it. Obviously only good developers would try to do that anyways. Can only imagine how awesome the next Red Dead Redemption or GTA is going to be on these new systems.
Xbox always had a hardware edge over PS3....but it's all in the controller. I prefer the feel of the Xbox controller. (I have big hands)
All the developer interviews and hands on info I have seen or read praises the dual shock 4 very highly. I don't have a preference in controllers that much but I did like the face buttons on the ds3 just a bit better. They seem more responsive to me.
Yeah, it seems as if the DS4 is a HUGE improvement over the DS3, which is great. I very much dislike the DS3 because it's small, feels cheap, hate the convex top of the sticks and the downward slant of the triggers. The DS4 seems to fix each of these.
My big problem with the DS3 was the R2/L2 triggers. They were awful and felt a lot like a last minute "me too" decision to include triggers. Controllers have had triggers since the Dreamcast, come on Sony...
to me FPS were 100x better on the 360 controller than the ps3 controller. a lot of it has to do with the stupid placement of the analogs on the ps3 controller too, but the looseness of the sticks and the triggers sucking did not help at all.

Remember that the dual shock design was around before the Dreamcast, it is almost a 20 year old design... Sony's signature controller. The triggers were originally buttons.
