No sales figures will change my opinion though. I still don't see anything on the PS4 other than The Show for me, with The Order the only near-future release to add to that. IMO, there's no point in owning both. The exclusives are so similar in concept/gameplay that you can experience everything you want on either console, if instead put with a Wii U.

But that's my opinion.

There is a point in owning both when you don't want to miss out on great titles and you can always buy the best version of a title that comes to both. It's a win, win and there is really no reason not to have both if you are really into gaming. There will always be games you can't play otherwise and yes they will be intriguing titles and no, you can't expect me to believe you could play Drive Club and say "This is just like Forza I don't need that game." It doesn't work that way.

Best version is really subjective. Does Fifa 14 on PS4 have the support the Kinect does? Regardless of resolution, if not, it is the inferior version. However, many of the people would try and argue that. It really comes down to what features are in each game, more so than what resolution the game natively runs at before being upscaled to 1080p.

yeah i mean i personally don't want to play any multiplatform FPS or racing games on ps4 because of the controller. all of the ones i get will most likely be on x1 for that fact alone. and the fact that xbl is better than psn to me still. i don't know if i'll even subscribe to ps+ on ps4 once my free year runs out. but if hot shots golf comes to ps4, then i'll definitely be on ps+ for that game alone.

No, but I'd probably do that with Driveclub, when you put it next to Horizon (or NFS, but I don't play NFS). To say there's no reason to skip the PS4 is ridiculous though, because it comes under the assumption that I don't have enough to fill my gaming time with. There's no point in buying a $400 console and abandoning my online friends for multiplatform games so pixels my 720p TV won't produce anyway.

I've got so many games to play between PC, One, and Wii U that the PS4 would literally just be a baseball machine, and no matter how much I'm "really into gaming," I can't justify $500+ (console, game, PSN+) for one game.

I tried testing my Xbox One stereo headset out today but no luck. I played Titanfall and not once did I hear anyone say anything. I can not believe there is no way to send a voice message on xbl to people on my friend's list, anyway I can test it?

XB1 + WiiU or PS4 + WiiU makes more sense to me personally than XB1+PS4.

Still don't want an XB1 but a good mechwarrior exclusive would really tempt me.

Sticking with PC + gen7 consoles until at least Destiny bundle hits though, and then will weigh that against a possible $199 WiiU holiday bundle.

Start a party and invite your friend with the intention of voice chat. I think a lot of people just don't use a headset because I don't remember people talking in titanfall when I had the game.

I sent someone a party invite and the mic works. In Titanfalll though I could see the mic show up next to people's name and next to mine but I would never hear anyone

The Wii version of Twilight Princess is inferior because the controls didn't work. The Kinect, in the case of Fifa, works 100% of the time in my experience. The PS4 having more pixels and less features that actually matter in the game makes it the inferior version. Going back to a game where I can't change the aggressiveness of my entire offense while playing or call for a substitute without hitting a button is stupid.

But I know "omg the Kinect suxxors!" and "Fifa is dudebro".

I know that but you quoted me and replied as such. I still stand by what I said that there is no reason not to have both. If I didn't have an xb1 I would want to play halo, forza, sunset overdrive, and killer instinct. If I didn't have have a ps4 I would want to try drive club, little big planet(even though it isn't for me I would still try it via rental),infamous, the order, bloodborn when it releases etc. I can't say I would play drive club and then forget about forza horizon coming a couple months later. I can't imagine myself not owning both to have the choice. Destiny gets some exclusive ps4 content but other games get some exclusive content for xb1 or maybe actually make good use of the kinect. I am not really a soccer fan but I am looking to see how NHL is handled by the new consoles. Line changes without menus does sound enticing.

Pretty much my thoughts. But I also prefer the Xbox controller so that makes the choice a little harder. Waiting till next GTA5 arrives before i finally make my choice.

I am failing to see how the XB1 had had a rough year. It has sold exceptionally well, only eclipsed by the success of the PS4.

Truthfully, I am surprised either is still selling as well as they are. There are so few games out on both, the average consumer really shouldn't be buying one yet.

You do know that Xbone has not sold 1 million units in 2014 in it's biggest territory, while it's competitor is pushing into 2million.

You are being obtuse if you can't understand why experts in the industry are saying MSFT is having a rough year.

Remove PS4 and just leave it with the Wii U. May Xbone only sold ~15K more units than a console that by a greater whole is declared "dead".

You guys are funny. Everyone knows that many hardcore gamers are going to own both anyway so the battle is moot. Halo Master Chief Collection runs at a far higher resolution on the XB1, and Uncharted is going to be far superior on the PS4.

The type of people who put this much energy into console wars are the same type of people that will take a day off from work to play a game at release or let a bill slide a few days to get the latest game. Let's not pretend that most of you guys aren't going to cross the aisle at some point, even if its three years from now. It's just a matter of when and not if. I just hope you think back to this time and realize the hypocracy of it.

The car analogies are silly. It's more like the V6 Camaro versus the V8 Camaro. Both cars can handle highway speeds just fine. The V8 will give you more top end and some additional torque, but you can get laid just as easily in the V6. Just saying.

Yeah but Xbox has lost 3 billion since 2001. PlayStation is on the profitable side.

That doesn't even matter because neither is going anywhere. The other ventures of each company doesn't directly reflect on the gaming brand. Sony is very successful in real estate and finance as well as mobile devices but not so much in their PC and electronics business. MS has had problems with windows phone adoption but that doesn't mean their PC OS and business software division is doing terrible.

"Nuh-uh! Microsoft Gaming isn't doing bad because Microsoft Corporation is doing great!"

Why are people in such denial? It doesn't hurt the product brand, your interest for it, or anything to openly admit that Xbone is not doing as well as expected and is in fact having a rough year. It's like admiting to that would some how tarnish the product for you.

Huh? Re-read my post. I don't even know what to answer. Unless you aren't following Nintendo's stock/inventory/numbers, I don't understand how you misunderstood what I said.

My comment wasn't a reflection of the gaming industry's health, it was specifically Nintendo's and how Xbone is being compared to the Wii U (of which isn't a compliment.)
