eeeehh ... i'm really glad i did not purchase sunset overdrive for $60. not even gonna get it for $40 on thanksgiving from ms. just not feeling it at all. only played it for like 30 minutes, but i simply have no desire to keep playing it, i just don't find it fun. don't like the mechanics in general with the whole grinding thing. the game just feels disorienting in general.

Yeah I had to play it for a while before I found some stuff I really liked, but overall it is still mediocre. I only got it because I really wanted a white system lol.

I thought about selling the game code but figured what the heck and used up all the codes. Not the worst mistake I've made.

They sent me a code for outfits on sunset overdrive. Don't think I'll use them.

I used them. Nothing I really liked... the best outfit I've got so far is the standard Fizzco one they give you. I really like that one for some reason.

So if I pick up an external hd does it matter which one? Also, will all my games be moved to the external and the internal will not be used?

I think I read somewhere it had to be USB 3.0. Other than that, I think you're good.

I don't know about your second question.

Yeah, I got that pack of random junk Microsoft sent out to Year One users. I said "screw it, might as well get SOMETHING out of it," and watched the free DBZ movie. That movie isn't appropriate for kids, that's for sure. Roshi's not even a sort-of creep there, he straight-up asks if there is a prize of porno movies for a bingo tournament.

Yeah, I pre-ordered it for PC to get all the bonuses. I'm hoping it will be good, but if not... it was only $15, and I bought it using a gift card that I got for 20% off.

Um... I have a feeling that you've only seen the heavily edited Dragonball Z episodes in the past, because Muten Roshi is no different in the movie than he is in the show. Although, I find your comment somewhat bothersome, because I think it reflects how much of a pansy we've become over time. Just look at some of our older movies, and see some of the stuff that we watched as kids. Ghostbusters has swearing, sexual innuendos (including suggested a phantasmal blow job), and such... yet it never mattered. Why are we so afraid that kids are so easily corrupted?

wow geometry wars 3 is like crack. game is intense. i love how tough the 3 star scores are to get as well, they definitely aren't easy at all. i just got #9 in the world on level 8 in adventure lol, but i'm sure it will go down quick as more people play.

i was like sweating after playing it for 40 minutes lol. a lot of fun and i like that the adventure mode has quite a bit of stuff in it to do. it looks fairly lenghty.

No, and yes. I've seen some of the original Dragon Ball, though I admittedly got bored with it and didn't watch the whole thing, before the HDD holding it went bad and I lost the files. He's definitely a creeper the whole way in that, but the American versions of DBZ shown on Cartoon Network and Nick (as Kai, which is just terrible) didn't portray him as such. I'm not sure if the Japanese/original American iterations of DBZ had Roshi as the dirty old man he is in the original Dragon Ball, so I can't speak to that. My statement was that, when compared to the U.S. DBZ, this movie (which is DBZ, not Dragon Ball), Roshi is much more crude.

As for what is and isn't appropriate for kids...I don't know. I mean, I get you can't shelter kids from everything forever, but I also don't agree with the idea of just throwing all kinds of moral...imperfection at kids is the way to accept it. I mean, swearing happens, we all know it. I don't do it around my younger brothers (11 and 9), though my dad and sister do. However, I'm not exactly innocent with my speech around adults.

That said, using the "kids can't be protected forever" argument to just expose them to this, that, and the other isn't rational to me. Children can and will be punished at many schools for cursing, so inundating them with cursing isn't the best move. On the more-serious level, exposing them to Roshi, haha, that's a different matter entirely. Openly having sexual relations and unveiled innuendo presented to them, I'm just not for it. No, I don't expect having Roshi ask about porn in Battle of the Gods to have my 11- and 9-year-old brothers seeking out porn. That doesn't mean I shouldn't use some moral judgment when choosing what I should discuss around them and let them watch, especially when I'm not their parent.

It's not a matter of how easily kids are corrupted, though when they're exposed to such things at an early age, and not told how things are unacceptable in society (and possibly punished for adopting such behaviors), then the matter of corruption is legitimate. If kids are raised around casual cursing, and don't know it's unacceptable for kids to do curse in public, or your household, it's definitely easier to corrupt them, when they don't know that their actions are wrong. Also, to again state it's not a matter of easily corrupting them, when they're raised in corruption (even when told it's wrong), and it's all they're really around, it becomes more likely they'll be corrupted, simply from a lack of alternative.

hahaha.

what is your tag on there? a lot of my friends from 360 aren't on my friends list but are on my followers list. i want to add you as a friend to have more scores to compete against.

was talking to my old coworker today actually about how i never see him online but he always sees me online and am a friend on his list, but he was a follower on my list. really dumb on ms part for it to do that.

i was just playing some more, got to level 20 i think but needed 1 more star, and didn't realize i was playing for 90 minutes lol. game is addictive. level 17 you can get A LOT of multipliers. i'm going to try and remember that when i need to level up my addons.

i'm liking the variety in levels too, good stuff. the one that i really don't like still and never did was the "king" mode.

My gamertag now is Khophace.

Playing last night, most of my scores were ranked between 100-150 in the world, shows how few people were playing it so far, haha. The adventure mode is going to be tough to progress through. I didn't have enough stars to fight the second boss and had to grind out better ratings for 15-20 minutes to get in there.

yeah i got stuck at the 3rd boss. i think i needed 35 stars and only had 33 so i just called it a night. i had like 2 3-star ratings prior to that, 1 or 2 1-star ones, and the rest 2 stars.

i'm really liking the difficulty of it though, i'm glad getting 3 stars isn't as easy as it is to get 3 stars on angry birds.

I just got a chance to try it out, and it's really nice. As a PC player, it's nice to finally have a good version of Geometry Wars to play. We did get a version of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, but it was somewhat of a lackluster port that's only beat in its blah-ness by the Lumines port.

I only tried out the old mode, but it was definitely fun. I'm not lasting as long as I'd like, so I need to work on that a bit.

The stories covered by Dragon Ball Z pulled much further away from the light-hearted nature of Dragon Ball. Honestly, I much prefer the original Dragon Ball to the later stuff because of it being like that. Actually, it reminds me of Toriyama's earlier work, Dr. Slump.

I'll try and be a bit brief as we'll get scolded for being off-topic. Essentially, we worry too much about every little thing. Should we just toss Playboys at children and let them soak it all in? Of course not -- and not that anyone is suggesting that -- but considering even the smallest of improprieties bad is a bit much. Going back to Ghostbusters, I never even realized half of those scenes were in the movie until many years later.

It's also worthwhile to consider the cultural differences in Japan that make up anime. If we tie this back into video games, the recent controversy with Bayonetta 2 is quite related to this difference in sexuality between Japan and the US.

does it use games for windows on pc? like can you have xbl friends on your list to compare scores?

i just got to level 30 but need a few more stars so i turned it off. some of the levels between 21-30 are ridiculous. boss at level 20 was very tough too. i'm still not a fan of the king levels at all. there are some cool things they do with the pacifier game type though.

my score on level 3 is pretty damn good i just had a nice run. thought it would be like top 20 or something but was 193 lol. the people at the top of the leaderboard are insane.

Yeah, Roshi's first introduction in Dragonball is him telling Bulma she has to flash her panties to get his dragon ball. She obliged and was unaware Goku had removed them prior, which is a bit of a stretch, but whatever. He is a super pervert in the show.

Fortunately and unfortunately, no, it doesn't. It's a bummer since it secludes all of the platforms, but GFWL is not well liked in the PC space. It's a bummer because it was actually a good idea, but as per usual, Microsoft fumbled the proverbial ball. However, I bought it through Steam, and it does seem to tie into Steam as I see my Steam profile picture and such in the game.

Haha... that whole part where Goku wakes up to discover her "missing balls" made me laugh so hard.

Speaking of Bulma, it's also worthwhile to consider character names. The most egregious is Chichi, which is Japanese for breasts. Bulma is actually Buruma, which is just romaji for bloomers/underwear.

I've quickly found that the Collect thingamajig is key to going back and getting high scores on earlier levels for me. I've upgraded it to the max and from what I can tell, it'll go anywhere on the map now to get the multiplier things. All I have to worry about is shooting and my scores have improved dramatically now.

yep, i figured that out last night too and got some high scores after doing so. but i do think some gametypes are better suited for different upgrades. like on deadline, the collector is definitely the best because you can die as much as you want (although dying is always bad, slows down everything). but there are also game types where there are walls, and the collector can get stuck behind walls so it doesn't help you out nearly as much. i remember using it on the level named "maze" and it kept getting stuck, although, none of the other upgrades (that i have yet) really do much on that level either.
