The move is rumored to be "forced", as in included, and the eyeToy is also going to be bundled.

There is no way Sony can hit the $399 price point unless they are willing to lose a ton of money just to get a large install base and hope they make the money back.

Yeah, different strokes for different folks for sure. Ni No Kuni is probably the best JRPG this gen, Xenosaga is an amazing trilogy from last gen, and the first two Kingdom Hearts games are very good.

I don't think they are freaking out so much, as they are debating if they should take a bigger loss on the console. They weren't expecting Sony to do that at all, that is for sure.

MS could afford to come out and say "well, in honor of Sony, $379 for the Xbox One" and be okay financially. Will they? Doubtful, but it would be amazing for consumers.

I am curious how the average consumer will look at it. From the gamers who post on the gaming sites, it is clear that Sony struck a huge blow. I will end up buying both. I do not have issues with no used games. I think a lot of the arguments for used games are weak/naive, though a lot of people think otherwise. If the Xbone still sells decently, I wonder if Microsoft/publishers can leverage the extra revenue from shutting out used games to lower the price of games.

Here's a viewpoint from someone (me) that was nominally in the Microsoft camp:

I owned an original Xbox. I own 2 Xbox 360s, one with Kinect. I have never owned a Sony console in my life. I don't much like Sony as a company. Unlike many here, I'm actually interested in Kinect 2. However, Microsoft is failing SO HARD compared to Sony next gen with the DRM and always-online nonsense that I'm likely to purchase a PS4 and skip the Xbox One entirely. Microsoft should be deathly afraid of Sony right now.

Haha well I guess I'm wrong this time. Normally I get it right with pricing but surprisingly Sony came out cheaper. I'm still waiting to see which games are exclusive though and how MS reacts.

I've never been in any camp. I'm waiting til at least September/October before I order anything. I'm an amazon prime and an american express platinum card holder. One of those things always allows me to get something first or cheaper.

I have a gaming PC, so even the xbox exclusives don't help sell one to me.

I'll probably get a PS4 though since there have been more non-PC exclusives that I want to play for my PS3 than for my 360.

And while people like to bash Gamestop, lots of people still go there. I can imagine Gamestop trying to promote the PS4 over the Xbone, because of DRM.

I am the wrong person too judge on it. I do not rent games anymore, sell games, or buy used. I do not have issues with rentals and individuals selling games. Though I do not like Gamestop and their used games schemes. I think devs/publishers deserve to get a cut of used game revenue when used sales are done at retail.

Not the same though, used cars are deprecated by wear and tear. Unless you are really anal about your game boxes...
Also the turnover rate for games and cars destroys that analogy.

And if it's all on PC, I'll just purchase the games for PC. These are all the details I need to know before making a decision so that may hurt MS.

I'm still waiting 2-3 months before I pre order anything. The cheaper console at holiday season will have more players, and more casual gamers and there is NOTHING more fun than rolling scrub players on launch day.

Playing BF3 last christmas when all new kids were coming was hilarious.

Halo won't be on PC, Ryse won't be on PC, Forza won't, and KI won't. All else will be on PS4/PC sometime. Maybe not day one but it's not exclusive.

Titanfall was already announced for xbox and PC.

It's sacrilege, but I've never gotten around to playing Halo 1-4 on my 360. Partly because I have piles of mouse + KB shooters for my PC, partly because I'm too old to compete against twitchy tweens online.

But for Halo and Forza fans, you'll just have to open your wallets.... at least you'll only need 1 Live Gold membership for both your 360 and One.

Dead Rising 3 I can promise you will come out on the PC at least (maybe/probably the PS4 too) after time. Capcom doesn't know what the word exclusive means with their games. As far as they see it, if it is only on the system for a year before anywhere else it is exclusive, they have a history of that stuff. So not concrete, but considering the history yeah..

ok so unless you are a psychic, it's an xbox one exclusive. man some people are reaching for straws in these threads.

and yes, i know capcoms history. they said ssf4 would never ever come out on pc and then it did a year or so later.
