Of course, but I mean disc-less as in you don't require the media to use the product, its literally just an alternate distribution method. people can still buy a game from a retailer and display the pretty box on a shelf if they so want but the game is digitally authenticated and works without the media present ala steam.
Sony announced their console first but didnt come forward with any details at all until MS did. I've been wondering if Sony had similar plans as MS and then after sitting back and seeing the initial outrage if they changed their mind like MS now have or if they were truly always going to be 100% DRM free etc.
You know...every game will be day one digital on PS4 too? So yeah you can just download everything.
On PS3 for instance you can download a game and anyone with a PSN account on that console can play the game.
I don't see why it'll be any different on the XB1 either. So...this whole "digital future?" it's been here... PS3 has had day one digital games for a long time.
