Why do you need an external drive for multiple games? I have almost 10 games installed on my XB1.
It should remember at least one WiFi network by default.Really? Just looking at the used up section when a game is installed makes it seem like there is less space available.
I think what I'll do from now on is just disconnect the internet while installing then connect it to let it download the updates after it says ready to play.
Is there a way for the system to recognize your WiFi password so I don't need to enter it each time I recconect?
Can you just turn off your router instead of disconnecting wi-fi?
Can I get some feedback on the Kinect option. Worth it, yes/no ?
That's even worse going back and forth between rooms. So odd it won't save settings. I wonder what the ps4 does, I have it using Ethernet adapters so I'll have to check it's WiFi settings as well. Maybe both consoles don't do this.
They really need to figure out how to make it like the ps4 installations. Install from disc first as much as you can, let the user in the game and either show an install bar or let them play a portion. I know it does this now, but it always tries to download the updates first before installing the game even if you have the disc version.
I have a problem with this sometimes as well. It used to be far more frequent, but has slowed down (possibly, due to my simply having less time to sit and play). I will get disconnected from the internet, but remain connected to the router. The only fix is to redo the connection wizard.
What kind of route do you use, might I ask?
You could just:
1. Decline update (you can play the campaign without it)
2. Get to the "Ready to Play" point of the install
3. Start the update
It's not automatic that way, but the effort is minimal.
There is a pop-up that warns you that the software you are installing requires an update.
I had the same experiences with CoD and Halo, that upon putting in the disc, the game began to install and gave me a pop-up that there was an update. I had the option to accept or decline it, and this is as a person whose Xbox is never taken offline. I can't really say what your situation is, but I can say it's likely atypical.
Do the games install automatically? I popped sunset overdrive in and entered my AC codes before going to sleep. Woke up with it still being like 40% and nothing downloaded..
The console will shut off after one hour of inactivity by default. Games on disk do not install automatically by default if I remember right. You have to click install disk. Not sure. I'll have to check when I get home tonight. Also noticed the system was off when I woke up. Probably why nothing happened. I'll have to check settings.. all I had time to do was hook it up and enter codes.
