The Overclockerz Store
In the fall of last year I won a contest through Neoseeker. It was for a motherboard, processor, heatsink fan combo. The sponsor of the contest was The Overclockerz Store. They finally sent the board (it took them months to finally send it) and I believe the board to have a bad AGP socket as most of my graphics are a jumble of criss-crossed color. I have swapped out memory, replaced my graphics card, swapped out the graphics card with an older card and always the same thing.

I have written five emails to The Overclockerz Store over a period of a month and they have never even acknowledged that they have received my email. The fine folks at Neoseeker have even tried to intervene all to no avial. Anyone out there have like experience with The Overclockerz STore. I would HIGHLY CAUTION anyone who is thinking about making a purchase from them. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Don't ever expect to get a response via e-mail. It isn't going to happen. It often doesn't happen with reputable companies. I couldn't get ahold of ASUS via e-mail about an RMA of a motherboard. Call them. Swear at them. They will listen.

Also, they try to hide their identity behind other stores/name changes/redesigns.

Have you noticed that they post no company information?

Now look at "Ability Computers - Wholesale Division" telephone number: 219.764.3366.

That's a little too close to be a coincidence, especially considering that Portage, IN is not exactly a major overclocking hotspot.

And of course, "Ability" sells Overclockerz ram...yeah, just a coincidence.

I don't think they are hiding behind anything... That is their wholesale division as stated. Did you know Phillips and Magnavox are the same? The file sharing programs Morpheus and Kaza? Micron and Crucial? Companies have various names for different departments. Sometimes the departments are the same they just target different markets.

Do you really believe that the Overclockerz Store has a WHOLESALE DIVISION??!!

Last time I looked, it was basically one person working out of his home, and a helper or two on occation. And why would any company have a "wholesale" division to sell retail?!

Also, this is certainly not the first time this has happened. If you'd been around a while back, you would have seen hundreds of posts about the shady dealings of this outfit. People talk about it a little less now because word is presumed to be generally out about them.

I just can't believe you're comparing a sleazy little outfit with major worldwide corporations like Micron and ASUS.

BTW, they've (probably "he's") also been busted repeatedly for putting false posts on Reseller Ratings, generally right after a name change.

This is much more than about bad customer service.

And YES, I'm fully aware of the fact that some companies are related in various ways.

BEWARE!!!
Of "OVERCLOCKERZ.COM! In July of this year I purchased a Gladiator h/s with a Delta fan. (works great, by the way).
There was some e mail about a free trial membership with "Travel Values.com. I never thought about it again, until today!
They (Travel Values), were kind enough to charge my debit card $72.00 which I gave to Overclockerz,(I thought) with some kind of privacy or security because my "trial" membership was going to expire!
I for one am outraged by this and just don't know who I can report this to.
I'm going to post this in EVERY forum I subscribe to, then join more so I can keep posting this warning!

Try case-mod.com, it's in the US but prices are fair, even in canadian dollars. Bonus, it's owned by a fellow anandtecher. I've ordered twice from there twice so far and everything has been excellent.
