Umm, no.

It teaches that it's plenty fine and called for to kill non-believers. In fact it's your duty.

the problem i see with the religion in general...If they teach that you should be peaceful and respectful to the beliefs of non-muslims...where are the Islamic leaders speaking out against the continuous violence being done in the name of Islam?

I know a LITTLE Arabic, but very little. I can write my name in Arabic, but that's about it, I can't read it at all.

Seriously, I've started reading the book, I know someone who's read it multiple times (because, let's be fair, it's a nice book. Just a fscked up religion ) and we both agree that Islam is ANYTHING BUT peaceful.

It's amazing how you read a book that was writtin 100% in Arabic and 100% in poetry and yet you could understand it.

i'm surprised.

Usually Muslims themselves have hundreds of questions about the book and turn to elders to translate the meanings, but you have mastered the book.

So tell me guy who has read the book what are the objects men cannot wear in Islam?

Wearing only, or also drink, eat and do?

You never read the Quran.

It's plenty fine and called for to kill non-believers and in fact it's your duty ONLY if it is justified. Justified as in if they oppress or attack you. It is your duty to defend yourself.

As for the "kill one person it's like you killed all of humanity" part:
005.032
PICKTHAL: For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth.

And to actually answer the OP's question, I have the Pickthal translation and it's the one I read. Seems fine to me.

Come on guys, Islam is supposed to be a peaceful religion, don't flame cause fundamentalists make it look bad. Let the guy read the Quran if he wants to!
Did you know Muslims are taught, as part of their faith, to outright lie about their religion. You can lie all you want to advance the cause of Islam. I wouldn't trust anyone who says it's peaceful. Besides anyone who reads the Quran will know it's not. Mohommad was a bloodthirsty dude. They preach hatred toward non believers.

For all you people considering the INATE violence of Islam, consider how violent Christianity was in the early middle ages. Christianity called for the destruction of ALL heritics, such as arabs, native americans, africans, asians, indians, etc. Christianity was also responsible for wonderful times such as the Inquisition, the Witch burning trials of Europe and America, and two Crusades. Women back then were also regarded as property and had no rights.

Christianity has a horrible bloody past, it is under the banner of holiness and religious rightousness that people have manipulated Christianity to fight, kill, and rape for personal and political profit.

Islam is NO different. For every fundamentalist out there, there are 10 normal muslims who are peaceful and respectful of other religions. Countries like Egypt, Kuwait, UAE, etc are all friendly moderal Islamic countries. During the early muslim and later ottoman empires, jews and christians were regarded as "people of the book", a standing of equality. The muslim empires allowed conquered lands to practice their own religions, and even used the same chruches and temples to worship Islam. Islam regards that the one God gave testaments to man in different "chapters" and that jews and christians were older chapters of God. God revealed itself man first and started judiasm, than it revealed further text and yielded Christianity, than finally to Islam.

Islam has no laws except for the five pillars which are not political. There are no commandments, therefor, ALL ISLAMIC LAW IS INTERPRETED. This is how fundamentalists can interprate things out of the book for their ends. People like BIN LADEN cannot issue Jihads on america because he is NOT a cleric. Yet he does so regardless, meaning he is not a man of religion but a politcal charachter.

Do not be so ignorant to hate all muslims because CNN shows clips of angry muslims every time something bad happens. If you really want to understand the people you hate so much, take a class like me, and learn more about before you assume.

All you who denounce Islam, please, show me quotes from the Quran that explicitly state that Islam is a violent religion.

PLEASE.
