I'm not looking to get in to an argument with you about it, but I would be curious to know which/some films outside the SW franchise that you would also regard as a masterpiece.

The Matrix
Groundhog Day
The very first Mission Impossible
Gravity
Ready Player One
Mr. Right
The Martian
Rogue One
The Hunt
Terminator 2
The Man from Earth

and many more. These aren't all 100% perfect but very close.

But ANH is a self contained masterpiece. That s insanely difficult to create.

Yeah, it seems impossible even now considering the technology they had back then. Took a lot of amazing people working together to make it come true.

People who loudly proclaim TESB is better than ANH really piss me off.

Hehe. Both are good...my favorite thing about TESB is probably the introduction of the Executor. That first scene when you see her dwarf the ISDs and cover them in her shadow is pretty awe inspiring.

Speaking of ships, I have often wondered why no IPVs or Tartans or other corvettes weren't scrambled to counter the fighter attack on the first Death Star. Or even small frigates, like the Nebulon. These are craft which are designed to counter starfighters. I would think that the Death Star would have many of these docked on standby, and even without time to scramble docked corvettes, a light squadron of corvettes could have possibly been deployed from nearby systems.
