lol Trump saying that companies who say they need clarity on trade are basically bullshitting. Yeah they can't make major capex decisions without knowing if he's gonna render them uneconomical like an hour later. Everybody is going to hunker down for the next four years and he will have caused the world's dumbest recession.

For the Canadians in the forum, if you like Moosehead beer, they have a mega pack just for you!

Moosehead Breweries, located in the province of New Brunswick that's northeast of Maine, said it's now selling the "Presidential Pack," which includes 1,461 cans of its Canadian Lagers. That's one beer for every day of Trump's term, the brewery said.

It's a pallet of beer in its very own collector's crate!

I used to drink almost exclusively one of Moosehead's other brands James Ready. 5.5%, Canadian made, and like $12 for 6 tall cans which is the cheapest you can buy booze here in Ontario for abv/$, at least at the LCBO.

Obviously, they haven't learned that profits are really only made through grifting and fraud. Why can't they figure it out like he has.

Ontario has implemented the 25% export duty on electricity to the United States.

https://www.thestar.com/politics/pr...cle_d3514c02-fdbb-11ef-8c0e-a7864b03c8fd.html

Premier Doug Ford has made good on his threat to slap a 25 per cent surcharge on electricity sold to the U.S. in retaliation for President Donald Trump‘s tariffs.
Raising an estimated $300,000 to $400,000 per day, the “tariff response charge” will be paid by utilities in New York, Michigan and Minnesota importing power from generators of electricity in Ontario.
“Until the threats of tariffs is gone for good, Ontario won’t back down,” Ford said in a statement Monday. “We’ll stand strong, use every tool in our tool kit and do whatever it takes to protect Ontario.”

I just looked up the Lutnick vote. Strictly party lines with two of each party not voting. 51-45-4.

So Collins and Murkowski are just as evil as the rest of them. If not more since they try to pretend they are straddling the fence.

And thankfully not a single D dared approve that idiot.

Isnt that redundant? Not that it isn't worth making Republicans vote for something so simple and obvious.

I'm not sure I agree with the export tax on electricity, but I can understand Canada isn't fucking around like Herr Trump.
Unfortunately it's targeting 2 blue states and purple Michigan; presumably the added costs will be passed down to customers.

Wow, I didn't think this would be necessary but.....

Bill was introduced by Democrats, so you know how that goes..

Invading Canada would be one of the dumbest things ever, but if Trump wanted the Panama Canal, he just does it anyway and tells Congress to shove it. Who's gonna stop him?

yaaay I get higher bills in NY despite my state and I voting against this dumpster fire. That'll show us.

I didn't know you were in NY.

Are you upstate?

BTW maybe just maybe we shouldn't vote in people who INSULT & THREATEN our customers/ trading partners because customers/ trading partners can say no we don't want to buy stuff from America anymore.

Have a feeling this isn't just a normal recession, this will turn into an economic DEPRESSION.

I realize it won't be any comfort but Doug Ford said he didn't want to do this and punish customers; he just wanted to send Trump a message that we are not a punching bag.
Unfortunate then that the message has been that the blue states will suffer. If anything, that would make Trump happy.

The Canadian tariffs on now specifically target red states more. It just happens to be that New York is in a geographic position to have electricity come from Ottawa. Michigan is getting hit too, and that is a red state. but again, it's geography. The Canadian gov't is indeed targeting the red states more.
