Theres a very good reason for that, of which you are apparently ignorant. The unions achieved all they set out to and much more-- to the point where they have begun to lose some support among the public. Most companies are extremely safety oriented and now you have OSHA and MSHA laws that they must adhere to, unlike in the first 70 years of the formation of the large unions. That is why much of the power they wield is unbalanced in my view. You cant prevent a company from streamlining and making their business more efficient just because thats what you want to do, and thats exactly what the Longshoremens Union did a year or so ago. Unions have pros and cons, but from the very beginning of their rise had massive corruption (see the Teamsters) and overstepped what they were intended for and so came the Taft-Hartley act, which was objectively needed to curb their power. That they politically aligned themselves early on with the Democrats early on is a matter of fact, but the fact that the majority of them are currently in favor of Trumps tariffs flies right in your face when you come here and attack me for calling them out on a thread that was made to lambast those same tariffs.
