Ok--I didn't want to start one. I thought all the RFK Jr. nonsense could stay in the anti-vaxxer thread. But folks, this is now a real concern. I'm actually seeing RFK Jr. bumper stickers (plural--more than one) driving around town and saw a few stickers in the Bay Area during my Fourth trip earlier in the week.

My initial thoughts were that—if anything—RFK Jr. would possibly pull votes from Republicans if he ever mounted a viable 3rd-party campaign. That’s pretty much impossible as it’s already been revealed he’s funded by MAGA. I never in a million years thought he’d get any traction with liberals in the primaries. But it seems he’s found a subset of under-educated, low information voters who identify as liberal and they’re putting some steam in his movement??? How???

I still don’t think he’ll ever amount to a serious challenge when actual votes are counted—but my fear is that his mere existence could turn off some of the voters Joe needs in the general. I don’t think we’re in Bernie Bro territory yet (those “never Hillary” fools) but we’re headed there. What do you think??

Your people didn't have the numbers in the DNC. They were sadly, still entrenched in Clinton's are inevitable shit, they get big money in. Bernie really, would never have gotten close to Hilary's number. As left as I am, I live in a real politic world, and this country is just not as left as you want it to be. We just can't let Republicans run the show. That's the only bottom line, is to win against them. And that's what we need to unite against them, not us.

The primary was not rigged in the slightest. Bernie just lost, and lost quite badly. It was over on Super Tuesday when he got blown out.

As for Bernie beating Trump that's unlikely - he would have very likely done worse than Clinton.

You conveniently ignore the facts that (1) Clinton won the popular vote by millions and (2) Trump became President because of the Electoral College, and even then only by about 50k votes spread among three states.

He also ignores that the Bernie supporters very probably are the reason Turmp won, because many of them voted for him out of spite, meaning they're the ones to fucking blame. Simple fact is they're a very vocal minority, but that also meant their dreams of him winning in general election is naive at best. Bernie simply did not have enough support even amongst liberals, let alone the centrist Democratic party. Then, on top of that they stayed home with their thumbs up their butts instead of voting for him in the primaries and then whine he didn't win. It wasn't rigged, Bernie simply lost because he didn't have the support. Because of them. They need to take ownership in their role. But they won't, because they know they're to blame for what followed after and they can't accept that they were the petulant children throwing tantrums like they were Turmp.

And in 2016, Bernie was almost all talk. He had little to nothing in place to support most of his policies beyond they sound good on paper. They had basically no plan for actually implementing most of it, which would have caused them to fail, especially given that Republicans got Congress.
