Just a FYI for others who might see these issues... A couple of weeks ago (hub at .57), I paired a GE Z-wave wired outlet and a GoControl PIR motion detector; neither are Wink-certified, although the GoControl is listed under Add-A-Product. To pair each, I had to get phone help from Wink, which involved multiple Z-Wave resets and exclude/include cycles. Interestingly, even though the GoControl is listed, Wink support had me pair it as a generic Z-Wave sensor.
After a couple of days, the PIR just stopped sensing and talking to Wink. Then, a few days later, likewise with the outlet (it switched on as scheduled one evening, then lost contact later that night). Meanwhile, my Link lights and Lutron switches are happy.
I haven't tackled the GoControl yet, but I spent a couple hours last night re-pairing the outlet. After removing the device (which the Wink app and the hub still believed to be entirely functional) and resetting Z-Wave on the hub, several attempts at excluding/including were unsuccessful. Back to Wink support. Same thing. But they advised me to wait until 9pm EST to try again when the worldwide pairing demand would subside. Another case where it would be nice to have an offline mode that allowed local pairing without talking to the mother ship. But I kept at it and a few attempts later, it finally paired; 13 hours later, it's still paired.
Wink support, while - to their credit - not shunning responsibility, basically said that any Z-Wave pairing was hit-or-miss and to expect pairing problems, as well as spontaneous random unpairings. Also, I have to say that Wink support is really trying. I know supporting different Z-Wave devices is a challenge so they offered no magic bullet, but they hung in there without looking for an excuse to abandon me. Plus, during prime time, it only took a 1 minute wait to get someone.
