I have not tried to connect my wink system yet!
But contacting Wink they told me that wink do not support
what I want to do with door sensor and thermostat and wink robot but are working on it! They, wink, were not very helpful and offered no suggestions?

Not sure why they'd say not. In any case, I just did a quick test setting up a robot to do just that - if the door sensor is open, at any time, then set the Honeywell to off. Seems to work fine. Whether it will work reliably over time who knows, but everything is there to make it possible and it does work in a quick test.

Yes and no. Sounds like what you want is 'when door left open for ## minutes'. Wink cannot yet do that. Wink can do 'when door has opened'.

Basically, you need advanced Wink Robots with timers and the like.. which Wink is probably working on but has not finished yet.

not sure if you ever got a response to this, but you can no longer use IFTTT to control Wink shortcuts that unlock a door or open a garage door...security/"we do not want to get sued"

I figured that was the case when they wouldn't answer my emails. Unfortunately, since the robot I created to send a notification if the Garage is left open after 10 no longer works either, the MyQ is useless.

Thanks. Also assuming that if I have two switches mounted and press the power button on switch #1, I can have it power on the second switch through Wink, right?

I've had my locks and garage door under Wink since Decemeber at least. Never had a problem. They were never unlocked/opened when they shouldn't be. In fact, it's been really convenient. Going to bed? I tap Night Mode shortcut. Everything turns off, the garage doors closes if it's open and the doors are all set to Locked. Same for when I leave the house.

Thanks, no big deal. Worst case is that I can use a pico to power both on/off.

Oh, yes. If you have Wink connected to the Lutrons you can use a Wink Robot to power one on/off if the other is powered on/off. There will be a delay, though... and the time of the delay is going to depend on Wink's servers. Usually it's about a second... during heavy hours it can be more.

Not useless, look into Tasker, its what I use to automate everything I have connected to Wink, minus some basic scheduling created within Wink.

In robots, under "During this time." Switch off Anytime. Pick Start or End. You'll see sunrise/sunset as alternate choices below the specific time scroll selector.

In schedule, select Time and you'll see the same as above.

Thanks for the detailed instructions, found it. Going to switch our porch light to sunrise/sunset next week and see how it works out.

Good that they added it but unfortunately no +/- offsets from sunrise/sunset which they also need. It's going to come on/off probably a little later/earlier than what you'd really want. With a porch light it's fine. For interior lights it's pretty much dark by what's sunset time. If they ever send me the new version of the Spotter that I ordered back in November, then I'll probably switch to the light sensor in that for my inside lights (pending any offsets being added).

Trippers and Wink Hub are sold / donated. They'll be going out in the mail tomorrow.

I share the sentiment that I wouldn't trust Comcast with any HA functions in my home. I used to have them but moved across a county line so am now in Cox land. I think the is going to be a good bit of competition for the role of HA hub. Comcast, Belkin/Wemo, Nest/Google, Lutron, Philips, SmartThings/Samsung, maybe Apple someday.

Of late, I kinda like things which are self-contained. The Hue route gives me a non-cloud lighting solution. I'm interested in a Nest for a thermostat solution. It seems products which are based on a confederation of vendors have support troubles (pointing fingers). We will see how that sorts itself out.

After I set up my wink hub, I was looking for some Wi-Fi Bulbs and saw they were going for around $16 each. The GE-Link Starter Kit contained 2 of these bulbs for $25, so I bought 2 of these kits just for the bulbs.

I am now wondering if there is some useful task that I could do with the 2 plug-in hubs that came with the kits. Anyone repurpose these for anything?

Hi, does anyone know of a good (reliable) temperature sensor that works with Wink?
I have the Spotter v1 but can't really rely on it for automating fans or regular window a/c, it fails to update the temperature reading and even when it does the reading itself deviates from other thermometers placed around it.

The new Spotter is still not widely available and I really can't wait for it.

Do you know of any other temperature sensor that will work with Wink?
