Looks like the latest beta is adding Ecobee support. woot!
Really? How would you know? What else have you heard?

Good luck with the SmartThings setup and let us know how it goes. In their forums there has been a lot of buzz about people having problems with the new hub pairing things ans the new app.

I am a member of the Wink Users Group on Facebook and a user posted screenshots of the inclusions:

I think LegendKiller convinced me that Ecobee is the way to go especially if I pair it with some of the smart vents starting to trickle out, so this is exciting news.

I don't think you'll be disappointed by the EcoBee3, we certainly aren't.

I just wish those smart vents were cheaper. It'd cost me $5k to put multi-zone in my house (3 zones) vs $3k for smart vents.

Maybe they'll get cheaper eventually.

Yeah, to be honest, I need a new AC system with multi-zone but have been putting it off. One room (my office) gets very little airflow from the vent so I had to put a portable AC in the room with a custom-built plexiglass insert for the window (I have casement windows). The existing AC is probably undersized by 1/2 to 1 ton but generally does a pretty good job with the exception of my office; our master bedroom can get a little warm too (both are on the second floor). I'm hoping the vents drop and perhaps I can use them to shift cool air around the house and get more pressure in our bedroom and maybe even my office.

Thanks for this. Hopefully it doesn't take very long because I really want fan support.

Does anybody remember or confirm if you can change the battery in a Tripper without deleting and resynching / rebuilding robots?

Did some shopping at target today and their cartwheel app has 25% off wemo switches and 20% off chamberlain MyQ garage door opener.

Picked up one switch and the door opener to try out.

My Wink hubs just got an update from 1.1.0 to 2.19.0. I don't see a difference yet, and my first test to see if it worked offline failed. Any body with more info?

People in the Facebook's Wink Users group are claiming it improves on speed and it is the first step for new products like the Lutron remote. Still to hear officially from Wink.

Yeah I heard it was supposed to improve speed for robots too, but in the tests I've done so far, I haven't seen any difference.

I saw your posts in the Facebook group thread about how quiet Wink has been and the lack of Trippers, etc. I have to agree. If they weren't dead before, they're guaranteeing it with their silence.

Wink may be quiet publicly.. but based on what I'm seeing internally, it's not affecting how much stuff they are adding into the Wink ecosystem. They are clearly talking to a lot of different companies. I suggest patience.

It's hard to believe that given that its parent company is broke, they've laid off many people, reduced the customer service hours and not to forget, Ben Kaufman himself said Wink doesn't make any money. Especially if they keep giving the hubs for free

They need to generate excitement and communicate - no ifs, ands, or buts.

Ecobee is 100% the way to go - I've tried all the thermostats now (Nest, Lync, etc.) and the ecobee has been the best and most advanced.

Awesome, thanks. Do you happen to know off the top of your head if it also works with SmartThings? If you don't know, no problem - I'll do a little research. My SmartThings v2 kit arrives today.

It is, although it is in Beta. Some people have complained a little about it. http://www.smartthings.com/compatible-products

Don't forget to let us know how it goes with ST. I'm very interested in speed and ease of use of the app, because of the wife. Also the Nest compatibility, but it seems as if you don't own one.

Ecobee looks good to me because of the run time reports. My only other gripe with Honeywell other than the lack of reports is that it doesn't display actual temperature variations. If you have the heat set on 70 it doesn't show that the temperature drops to 69, furnace kicks on and boosts it up to 71. I'd like to see and control that range so I can optimize run time vs. frequency of cycles.

Newer central heaters have to complete a number of safety steps before they fire each time which is basically like booting-up over and over. I suspect that I could save some wear and tear on my unit if I reduce the frequency.

Yeah, I planned to let things shake out a bit before I buy the thermostat, Ring doorbell, and other stuff like that. I won't buy a door lock no matter what and I am very hesitant to buy a garage door opener as well. I'm mainly interested in lights, sensors, temp control, etc.

I still have 5 Trippers and 2 Overflows I haven't deployed yet - I may sell the Overflows but I have a use for all the Trippers and may also go and clean out any stock I can find of them, as I'm planning on building a refrigerator/freezer alarm using the Tripper's board as the portion which connects to a smart hub.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quirky.android.wink.wink&hl=en

For iOS:

What's New in Version 3.6.0

* Individual lights can now be added to widgets in iOS. No need to open the app to control your lights, just swipe down from the home screen on your iPhone.

* Honeywell and Emerson Sensi thermostats “fan mode” now supported. Want to move some air around your house to freshen things up without paying to cool it? Go for it. You can also now control auxiliary heat systems.

* We’ve also made several security updates and enhancements to improve overall system performance.

NEW PRODUCTS

* GoControl Garage Door Controller: No more second guessing if you closed the garage door. Open/close it from anywhere and get alerts when it is opened.

* Lutron Connected Bulb Remote: Control your Wink-compatible ZigBee bulbs with this remote for super snappy control. Assign Wink Shortcuts to buttons on the remote and control of Wink-compatible products around your home. Great for when you need some time away from your smartphone

Looks like this is the remote:
