It is set to ship on 11/28. But, if you pre-order now you can get $40 off, free shipping, and a free bridge. Just use this referral code

There's no need to wait... Lowes is already selling them in store. Also, given that the price is $79.99, it's the exact same price as the discount pre-order price.

Also, I'm pretty sure we don't allow links with personal referral codes. Especially when you make it sound like the code is required to get a discount, but what you're actually trying to do is get in on the deal for referring 4 friends to get 4 free vents.

I was really excited about this but I see an issue with the available airflow. I would love to see the air flow statistics of these before I invest at all.

Ecobee needs to buy up this company and integrate them immediately.

I just applied for the Facebook Wink Users Group, didn't even know it existed.

Yeah, I was a bit bummed when I saw that it didn't include Ecobee3 support. Ecobee seems the most useful since you can add multiple sensors, which would work well with multiple vents.

As for the airflow, it's definitely going to be reduced, but I think it would take some fancy calculations to determine whether the reduction is truly a problem. It should also depend on how much air your system is pushing to begin with

Sorry, I didn't know you weren't allowed to post referral codes; I took it off my post. But, it is still a better deal if you use the pre-order because the $40 is off of the pre-order price. So, two vents would be $140, plus you get the bridge free. But, to get that price, you need a referral code.

That is what I told the Ecobee folks also. Remember to be safe the supply must have a loopback to the return that opens when the static pressure exceeds specs.

I also applied to the FB forum, thanks for the tip.

Okay, so someone just appeared to have spilled the beans on the latest beta hub update and it seems that local control has finally arrived. This should be interesting when rolled out to the rest of the users.

Should anyone have the same problem, I just solved it:
1) Make sure you have root access
2) Edit the file build.prop to change ro.product_brand from HP to samsung and ro.product_model from HPTouchpad to GT-I9100
3) Reboot

I didn't have to do any of that but I installed the app long ago and have just been updating since. It is current though. Might depend on what build of Android you're running. What's on yours?

Hmmm... Where did you see that? I have the latest hub beta. Can't talk about what is there because of the nondisclosure agreement obviously but I don't think that's completely accurate.

You guys know that you probably can sign up for the beta right? They seemed like they were open for people to join not that long ago so I don't think that it's a super exclusive club. Unless they've closed things up more recently anyway.

For people who have the Amazon Echo, I hadn't seen it before but there now is an IFTTT trigger function for Alexa which makes it easy to create recipes to control Wink devices not discovered by Echo (e.g., locks, thermostat, etc.). So you can say, for example, "Alexa trigger lock doors" or "Alexa trigger heat" with a pre-set temp. Any shortcut will work in the form "Alexa trigger [phrase referencing a shortcut]."

Didn't see any other published Wink recipes using it so I made a quick example here:

https://ifttt.com/recipes/342026-trigger-wink-shortcut-with-alexa-trigger-shortcut-phrase

AND since you can assign robots to shortcuts, pretty much anything in wink can be voice controlled.

I know you can shoot them an e-mail and ask for it, but I have no desire in joining the Beta program. Someone in another forum talked about it and then had remove the post because people started reminding him/her about the NDA. I can't know for sure because I'm not part of the program and obviously don't expect you to break your NDA. Just relaying what I read.

Went to HD to get a link bulb. When I pulled it from the shelve, found 3 boxes of Trippers behind it. At the register they rang up for $10 each. Only $5 per Tripper! The only way it good have been better would have been for MORE boxes to be there!

Aisle which has all the LED Bulbs, Wink Hub, etc. Behind a box of Lutron Connected Bulb remotes on bottom shelve. I took all the ones I found there (3 Boxes)

Thanks. Grabbed some more and I'll have to have those that I got earlier adjusted.

They hide these in different places in every store it seems. Some are in the clearance section. Some with the Wink stuff. Some with the Hue and Connected lights where it sounds like you found them. The ones I found today were in another small section with Wemo and some other odds and ends next to the electrical tools.

If the shortcuts have any commands for locks or garage openers, they are blocked. That is why some of mine are missing, anyway.

Strange. I have several which use locks and they appear in the IFTTT list and work fine with IFTTT and Echo. e.g., One uses geolocation to lock doors when I leave the house. Another locks all doors along with changing various lights to lock up at a particular time at night. The same shortcuts also are used to trigger Echo to lock doors on command and/or invoke the same nightly lock up using the "Alexa trigger" command.

Wonder why some would have them appear and others not?
