The crap that mobs drop(weps and armours).I pick up everything,im weird like that

Just sell all the stuff you don't need,ie all weapons, armour, stuff you have too much of over ie 15x timber etc...

No reason to carry it with you.

I carry each set of witcher armor that I rotate through when I hit the required level. That along with swords from each school the weight adds up quickly.

Having a "stash" will make weight management a lot easier.

Best to craft it when you hit that level, saves you on weight, same goes for weapons,it's not like the game is hard and you need top gear ASAP.

if you're carrying that junk, you really need to sell it. Only keep a handful of the relic swords that you like, and maybe armor only if you are using those pieces.

The armor you find is never as good as the witcher armor, so it's just vendor trash.

Some of the relic swords are very good, but anything that is white, blue, yellow needs to be sold. You'll find many more of those, and at higher levels anyway. Same with the named relic swords.

Yeha, I think I carried around only one extra piece, maybe griffin vest, but never upgraded it, and then I eventually sold it. Easy enough to craft later (way cheaper than buying it back.)

My storage problem is that I loot every single node and crate--my gear bag is relatively empty, aside form an obnoxious pile of runestones and glyphs that neither stack, or work for crafting

But I have so many alchemy and crafting components that my weight is almost always near max. I think I hover around 155kg for the most part, and I only carry the armor I wear and 1 extra sword in my bag.

A lot of the lootable, dismantle junk is really heavy too--like bear hides and other animal pelts. Always good to check that panel and sell off the dead weight.

I installed the 15.7s with my 280x OC card,no issues so far and the game did feel very slightly smoother but nothing major.

Picked it up during GMG's VIP sale. Pleasantly surprised. The individual quests are quite good, both in terms of writing and in terms of the objectives. More interesting and engrossing than your typical fetch/kill quests in other RPGs.

Controls are subpar though, IMO. The game is sometimes frustratingly picky about looting objects--like there's stuff that I KNOW is lootable, but I can't get the loot button trigger to pop up, or it will pop up for half a second while I'm moving and quickly disappear. Is there a workaround for this? Combat's also so-so.

Kind of a coincidence but I started playing Witcher 3 after playing through some old Ultima games for shits and giggles. Witcher 3 really feels like what a modern Ultima should be (sans the party/companions).

that might be fixed when 1.07 is released this week. Part of the issue is geralt has some momentum when moving and there is an option to turn that off in the patch (supposedly)
so it should help. Or there is a way to change an ini file to change the Extinguish button so that you dont hit that instead of the loot button

Serious question: Would I like Witcher 3? Trying to decide whether to buy it for this weekend.

From the videos I've watched, I can't really tell if it's my type of game. I've heard the actual gameplay/fighting is mediocre, which would be fine if the story/voice acting/presentation were good, but the reviews and videos make the game seem very meh in terms of story. FWIW, I tried to play Witcher 1 way back in the day and couldn't get into it.

Here are my opinions of games I've heard people compare Witcher to for various reasons:
Dragon Age - did not like
Mass Effect - did not like
Souls/Bloodborne - really liked
World of Warcraft - liked
Shadow of Mordor - liked
Skyrim - meh (somewhere between "liked" and "did not like")
Fable - meh

Yes you will like the Witcher. If I had to guess it'll fall somewhere between Skyrim and the Souls games on your list.

I can carry 130 and I'm not cheating. Maybe the 130 is the weight of what geralt and saddlebags can carry combined. Is there a difference? IDK.

yes.

his default is 60kg. the max saddlebags is 100kg, so that max possible carry weight (at time of this post) is 160kg.

So apparently the patch is released for consoles but not for PC yet.

I also read that they raised the level requirements for Witcher gear which is stupid in my opinion. It took me 15 levels to get the 1st decent looking Witcher gear(Griffin) and now they raise the requirements for all the sets, it already take ages to get non clown looking gear.

I wonder if this is an across the board performance gain or just for Windows 7/8 users? Since we already know Witcher 3 runs 10% faster on Windows 10 Preview.

I am going to start this game from beginning when the new patch arrives, good thing I have only played it very little.

The PC patch should be out by tomorrow at the latest. Apparently some PC specific issues required more fine tuning, which doesn't seem unreasonable given the fact that the PC platform is much more complex than the consoles given its open nature.

I actually used the a horse a lot, probably because I preferred not to fast travel so often, but Geralt's sprint time was so slow. The horse controls certainly suck(ed) and it's frustrating at times, but I take that over the slowness of walking. That, and I'd rather not fight everything that pops up.

Mounted fighting is quite rad, though, and rather effective, though it's difficult to connect. I had some fun early in the game trying to take on a bandit camp where they were 10+ levels above me, and at least a dozen of them. The only way I succeeded was opening by rushing in on the horse and cleaving a few in half before starting the fight. You can actually catch them off guard this way, as they'll be sitting down, initially and it takes some seconds for them to get up an prepare. ....now that I realize I could have tossed a Northern Wind in there first...damnit!

Eurogamer's digital foundry did a performance review for patch 1.07 on the consoles, and it ain't pretty.

I guess we're lucky to be playing this amazing game on PC in all it's glory, as the consoles are clearly struggling with this game. CDPR should just bite the bullet and do what DICE and Ubisoft did, lower the resolution for the consoles.

So that would put the PS4 version at 900p and the Xbox One at 720p and free up some resources..

I feel sorry for CDPR and other devs. These current gen consoles are just too damn weak to handle massive, ambitious open world titles like the Witcher 3..
