Sucks that it was pirated but hopefully at least some of those people buy it.

I have a terrible confession to make.

Never played any of the witcher games even though I became PC only gamer many years ago!

Picked up the bundle from steam yesterday and have sunk about 15 hours into the first one so far. Hope to have the second one complete in a couple of weeks which should give them time to patch any bad bugs in the new one before I start it.

Its true that it sucks while priated, but if you bought it you get the 16 free dlc.
The only sad part is that they are releasing a day 1 patch that the pirates will be allowed to install too

With the discount I got on Steam for owning 1 & 2, I feel like I got a bargain only paying $45 for the game. I would of paid more than that for it.

When you release a DRM PC game, you have to know there is no other way to prevent excessive pirating. That said, I could not be more ecstatic for the way CDPR is handling it. They aren't even trying to counter-patch the effort.

They have the best approach: provide them the best game possible, because there are plenty who actually pirate only to have an extended demo or test the product and the system. If they like it but it is buggy, they wait until it is cheap and patched. If it is good and runs good, they may very well buy it.

A great deal of piracy simply revolves around a want without a financial means to support said want. So people only buy what they really really want and not every game that is interesting. Sometimes this means only the quality games.

A lot of people who pirate would have never bought what they downloaded, but since it's readily available they figure why not? Entice them to buy with a freaking outstanding product and, to that end, patch the bugs and demonstrate comittment to the product... you will get revenue that you would not have had any other way.

You gonna buy it then?*s******s*

I just read that agian.apart from you getting a free game there.i think you are full of shit.

I haven't pirated a game in forever. I just buy them when they have various super sales, be it Steam, GOG, Origin, Humble Bundle, or Amazon. Most of my game purchases of late. I have done nothing with TW3 as of yet, and I won't download anything until I actually buy the game. I was going to pre-order, but I recently decided I absolutely need to get through TW2 before I move on, and I can probably snag a better deal and not worry about bugs by the time I get around to finishing it... too many things competing for my attention.

If my financial situation was different (and I might yet change my mind), I'd buy the game now even if I know I won't get around to playing it for a few months (or sits in my catalog for years before I get back to it - this has been known to happen, I rarely finish games). I do buy the games I feel absolutely deserve my money right at launch, or at least seem promising to capture my attention for a long while (Battlefield games mainly, GTA V on PC after buying it for PS3 at launch and mostly letting it sit unplayed).

I stand by what I said, because that's how I am with music. I also mainly stick to services like Google's Music Pass (Zune/Xbox Music before that, before Microsoft royally screwed that one up), grab unavailable music from elsewhere if possible, and if it is something I really, really like, and can afford to buy with my limited discretionary income, then I actually buy the physical disc. And whether one chooses to personally believe it or not, that is in fact representative of the majority of those who pirate.

Zanovar it is wrong to to oppress and violate with hate and prejudice those who you think are committing "thought criminality" by thinking in a relative and logical way about the world and society instead of dogmatic absolutism. The Inquisition does still exist and maybe you can apply to join them.

Why do people keep comparing images at different times of day, different lighting situations? and platform?

why do people give a shit about the initial release version--as if vanilla Skyrim compares in any way to a properly-modded, or simply the official texture pack version.

Skyrim with dynamic lighting, water effects, ENB etc looks as good as that top pic. ...that's a rather old game, too.

Hmmm...I own both of the games and it shows up as $47.99 CDN for me (-20% discount from the $59.99 CDN MSRP price). Still, that works out to about $40 USD after our FX rate, which is a bargain for such a highly reviewed game with 100+ hours of single player campaign. It looks like this is one of those games that's easily worth $60 USD. Pretty generous of CDPR to offer a 20% discount for owners of the other Witcher 3 games. Activision/Blizzard would never do that for Call of Duty or Starcraft.

I hope this game sells well on consoles because the Witcher 2 Enhanced sold only 820,000 copies on Xbox 360 as of March 21, 2015, despite almost 85 million Xbox 360 console owners! That means < 1% of all Xbox 360 owners bought the last game. Pathetic!

I don't understand how this amazing game doesn't sell 7-10 million copies.
