Motion blur is off here as well.

Settings I use for AMD people with similar card to mine 280X OC@1080p

HBAO+
Viewing distance(listed as foliage distance) down one notch from max.
Motion blur off
Sharpening on low, high(max) looked too sharp but did not really effect performance so preference thing that one.
Shadows low
Hairworks disabled.
Frames per second unlimited.
Vsync on
Bloom and depth of field are enabled on mine but preference thing.
Everything else on Ultra or enabled.

I did a new benchmark and was getting 42 to 48 FPS,average was solid 45FPS outdoors with a lot of trees blowing etc so very happy with that, also I could see the improvement in texture detail with the 1.04 patch so nice to see it improve visually.

Benchmark was outdoors in Velen using Fraps, using cats 14.12 drivers (yes I know old but very stable).

Do check your settings in options since the patch update reset some of my custom settings.

Seriously how are you able to play the game at 42-48 fps? I got my settings to allow for a steady 60fps when outside of towns, the minute I hit a town my fps drops to 45-55fps. I personally find that low framerate to be noticeable and quite disgusting almost to the point where it ruins the gameplay for me. I seriously cannot understand how someone can play this game at less than 60fps and not be either legally blind or have zero care in the world about performance.

Cause some people are playing the game and ignoring the rest.

Still don't how you guys are leveling so fast--Steam now says 60 hours, I'm at level 12. All I'm doing is sidequests, monster contracts, story quests, exploring, blah blah. Now, I'm probably approaching 8 hours of that time AFK.

Granted--I do spend a lot of time stubbornly fighting mobs that I probably shouldn't, so that kills time efficiency, but I like the challenge and the satisfaction of killing a group of goons that are 5 or 6 levels higher. I eat food nearly every second, and so run out constantly. I don't like to meditate all the time, either, so I'm always low on swallow, often underleveled and facing off with low health.

But, it's still super fun. At least when I win fights they feel well-earned.

No way. Witcher items are much better stat wise(base damage means nothing when you get +10% attack power and critical hit bonuses for example) and they can upgrade. I'll post pictures later of my gear so you can see.

At the same levels for the gear I am seeing, I have relic weapons, as well as gold mastercrafted stuff--like a Skellige sword--that has +75% crit damage/20%+ crit chance.

I have yet to see that on Witcher gear (I haven't seen a lot of Witcher gear, though)

I am a power gamer. I scour the area, meditate often, do everything I can to cheat fights (potions, oils, etc). It helps years of Dark Souls have made my able to dodge this stuff with ease. I have one death so far in 60 hours and it was because I jumped off small ledge in Novigrad... You're telling me I can take a direct hit from an arch griffin, but a 10ft drop kills me. =( I've cleared all of White Orchard, Valen, and most of Novigrad I believe. You kill amazing if you get the last level perk for the fast attack that causes bleed. It eats things up quickly. I lead with a fast attack and then do the rest of my damage with heavy.

Personally, I don't get off on FPS counters, but rather IQ and game play. As long as the game is in the high 30's or better, I have no problems enjoying it.

I find a steady FPS is best. I tweak to where I can sit at a comfortable level and cap it. The jumps from 60 down to 45 are what I notice more so than if it was simply a constant 45.

It's a RPG not first person shooter where fps matters especially in online multiplay.

I rather have better visuals in a single player RPG then speed, speed or performance is not main priority for me in single player RPG,as it stands it feels smooth enough so happy with that and only had one crash( freeze) after 42+ hours.

Indoors I actually get higher FPS but I guess it really depends on the area in question or town.

Seriously do you really care what makes me happy in RPG or just making a pointless statement for sake of it?

I can just as easily say I don't get people that are obsessed with getting 60 fps in their games. Sure, some twitch shooter I can get but in an RPG? I don't notice any difference between 50 and 60 fps but I do notice a difference between medium and ultra textures.

It's really not that hard to grasp is it?

You do know they are on the same map? You can visit novigrad anytime you're in Valen, in fact the main quest recommends level 10.

Any of you guys played some Gwent? I like it, but I really want to get the Monster deck filled out. It looks super OP. =( I've been trying to snatch up cards as I go, but I think I'll have to resort to a guide to find them.

It's fun, but once you've done the Gwent questlines in the different areas to get the unique cards, it becomes very easy. Those cards are all OP and you win every game once you have them.

I play a lot of games at 30 frames per second.

Will be playing Witcher 3 at that frame rate with hairworx enabled.

In fact, most people who play Witcher 3 are playing at 30fps with dips (console gamers) so I feel pretty good about my locked 30.

Also, since the game is obviously play tested and designed for 30 fps, I don't feel I am putting myself at a disadvantage during combat.

There isn't a single thing I've come across where I need to react in a 60th of a second, or even a 30th of a second. Almost everything has 4-5 frames "active", so playing at 30 fps is not a gameplay hindrance at all.

I haven't filled out my monster deck enough to play yet, but the thing I've noticed is that it seems to be extremely reliant on close combat cards, so it's very vulnerable to the winter card. Also the "summon allies" cards apparently pull all of the ally cards from your deck and your hand, so that can work very poorly or very well depending on what you draw.

The first time I played the soothsayer he had an impressive amount of points on the table in our last game (120+ IIRC), but all of it except maybe two cards was close combat. I would've beaten him if I hadn't been an idiot and redrawn my winter card. In the second game his hand apparently got emptied by the ally cards and I beat him easily with like 4 cards still in my hand.

Some of you need to turn the fps counter off and just play the game. If you aren't getting stuttering and you aren't getting 60 down to 30 frame rate drops in a second, then it hardly matters. This isn't a twitch game.

I just got the ursine master crafted swords and they have 5% adrenaline point gain, 75% critical damage bonus and 5% bonus experience from human and non human on the steel sword. I fitted it with runes that give 5% chance to cause bleeding, 5% sign intensity, and 5% adrenaline point gain (total 10%). The silver sword has 5% adrenaline point gain, 75% critical damage bonus, 14% chance to dismember, 20% bonus experience from monsters. I fitted it with runes that give +30 armor piercing, 5% chance to cause bleeding, and 5% adrenaline point gain. The steel sword is 254-300 damage and the silver 373-457 damage.

Add that to my feline mastercraft set which gives a total of +50% attack power and I get the bonus from light armor that gives 25% bonus to critical hit damage and fast attack damage 5% per piece. So I get a 175% bonus on damage for critical hits now.

Oh nice, those are the stats I aim for on my swords, because I like the light armor perk in the attribute panel. I just haven't seen those yet. I've only uncovered the griffin stuff so far, and a set of superior Ursine armor.

by the way, I'm not sure if CDPR has a history of nerfing stats and what not, but those sets and attributes that can give you up to 200% crit damage bonuses seem to be....slightly overpowered. I wonder if that one is going to get to the nerbat?
