let's see...I'm 90 hours in, level 16, on the level 12 Novigrod quests...I've talked to Yennefer once (well, twice if you include the opening dream). so...no comment yet.

I swear this xp bug must have hit me hard this week, because I do nothing but going from contract to contract, ! and ? events, story missions...wtf am I still level 16? I think I've cleared ~70% of the space in Velen now.

Yea I'm holding off on main quests until Monday's patch. I've been doing side quests and contracts instead.

Yah, I'm nearing 60 hours. Just threw down with a couple epic monsters I encountered randomly. One was way above my level, probably took about 30 minutes just to kill one monster. And no QTE whatsoever. Loving it.

My 2500k handles the game on ultra minus shadows and blur. I'm getting 35/38-50 fps. No issues. I would wait for skylake instead. I don't think your system would struggle with the game.

That is a issue. I have a more or less solid 60FPS with slight dips to 55FPS on this 5930K and 780 Ti. I'd buy a console rather than put up with 15FPS dips. I can confirm the game does use those cores and threads and RAM usage has increased around 20%.

I think the game doesn't give XP for quests if the quest goes grey, just like enemies. You are overlevelled. One quest was Level 12/13, I had hit 17/18 got next to no XP.

Well, I'm definitely being hit by the XP bug. Guess I'll try to limit myself to side quests tomorrow. 'Bout time to head to Skellige and start exploring it, as well.

I have both consoles but it looked like crap on ps4 streams. The fps dips don't bother me and I don't really notice much of a difference except in the terrain from high to ultra. From the way I see it, its not like its unplayable or laggy, game runs fine.

I'm very happy with the performance on my AMD 280x OC(no issue or crashes),I've read there are more issues ironically with Nvidia side then AMD ,surprising when it's designed for Nvidia.

I have encountered some game bugs ie one keeps saying hidden cache under bridge in WO on map with circle search area ,I've done that one and quest journal says completed.

Also people in cages outdoors, some times the key will despawn so you are out of luck.

Nothing major so does not really effect the game like the well known XP bug for major quests.

The bug is only for quests that are 6 levels or lower than your own level.

Does it? Last night I was level 17 and complete a piece of the MQ that was level 12, and got no xp.

No. From my understanding, by design you're not meant to get XP from quests over 6 levels below you. Those will be grey in the quest menu. Quests that are green or within 6 levels to your own, you're meant to get XP.

Therein lies the bug, you can do main quests that are within the proper range, and get no XP. So you should have received XP for a 12 level quest at character level 17.

Hopefully this will be fixed tomorrow, and without introducing more problems. I've held off on main quests all weekend. Pretty annoying, but with everything else there is to do in the game I'm not even close to bored.

I dont understand.. why would you buy the console if you don't like 15fps dips. The console version is ~30-15fps. Some of the cutscenes have horrible frame loss.

Any tips for jenny o the woods? I'm using yrden and I saw a YouTube video where someone has it and it zaps the wraith. I need to upgrade it I suppose. What sucks is I've done all the secondary quests in velen and I'm 10.5 now so I need to find other stuff within my range and it's getting hard now.

I have been exploring Velen (95% done) and still found a few more side quests I missed, however been holding off on main quests due to the XP bug issue, but got a few grey main quests to do,not surprising since I'm almost level 19 and have a few level 9,11 etc to do,no xp is not a problem for me since I'm too high already(way more then 6 levels)


I did bump into a 34 level monster in Velen but obviously too hard for me, IMHO exploring is best option at the moment if you are worried about the main quest XP bug,always finding new loot and potion recipes.

Come back later at higher level with better gear,check bestiary for best potion etc against Jenny,Yarden trap is best way and keep moving around in combat.


Don't let it frustrate you and just come back later,so much to do in this game.


I'll say Jenny needs rebalancing,I was level 15 when I killed her so above the recommended level,right now at level 18 I killed some single level 24 mobs(ones guarding loot) that were easier then Jenny.

Point being wraith a few levels below you should be a lot easier then ones 5 or 6 levels above you.

helping the mages escape from Novigrad. Cool quest. Tough choices. Also, Dijkstra's proposal to knock of Radovid... It SOUNDS appealing, which means he's probably lying or has some ulterior motive.

that is part of it, but those quests weren't yet greyed--some speculation about the bug is that it is treating storyline quests as greyed-out non/xp side quests when they should not be--or before they should.

I had assumed that unlike sidequests, story quests always gave xp, regardless of current level, but I'm not sure if that is true.

I'm actually getting some xp from level 12 sidequests and !/? events, but not level 12 story quests, while at level 16 and 17. I think I was getting XP at level 15. When I hit 16, that stopped.

Treasure ones I have are level 23 and 24, one is 30 I think. I didn't explore the ? In the sea though. I should go find out what loot there is as soon as I finish the family matters quest.

Be sure you fight her just after dusk or right before dawn. Use specter oil. Alternatively/in addition to yrden you can use bombs (I can't remember if it's moon dust or dimeritium) to force her to stay corporeal. When she splits into copies kill them ASAP because they heal her and drain your heal.

You should either go on to Novigrad or continue the main quest in Velen. Novigrad quests start about level 9-10 and there are quite a few of them. Also, you can't really "finish" Velen and then move on. Several of the Novigrad quest lines send you back outside of the city.

Been trying to keep a close eye on XP after completing side quests to ensure I get it. Just completed one right now and didn't receive any XP. Watched a youtube video of the quest and saw XP was awarded at completion. Level 12 quest, I'm 14.

Sure hope they fix this crap by tomorrow.

Thanks I'll get back to that one later. Going to upgrade yrden to level 2 to see if that helps. If I had that ball that zaps them instead of the glyphs it would make the copies a lot easier to deal with. I figure I'll be level 12 by the time I go back.
