The thing is though we are comparing a lv68 item with a lv30 item. Hardly fair. Now put a lv50 sword with +75% crit damage bonus and you'll see higher base numbers to calculate off of and it might be a different story. There's also other factors like your level, the enemy level, the enemies armor, your oils and buffs, debuffs on the enemy, armor piercing bonuses etc that determine the actual attack damage dealt to an enemy. It's not that easy to come up with a formula to figure out the damage and what would do more than another. There's probably some dice rolls going on that you can't influence as well.
...but that's exactly what I'm talking about. There is no point to compare swords of different levels, with different base damage.
my question is about the inherent bonuses. I've already mentioned several times that many relic steel swords outclass any of the witcher steel swords, so I don't care about comparing those....but you're showing the ursine sword at the half the level, can nearly match the damage output of the other....so I think that pretty easily answers the question about which bonuses are better, no?
I don't know this, but I suspect it's possible that base damage might be adjusted based on those bonuses--say, maybe the 75% crit damage swords have lower inherent damage?
I seriously doubt the difference in base damage is that big a deal if your crit rate is high enough, say 30%+, which is pretty easy, to achieve I think. You then assume every third attack is going to hit that much more, so over 10 seconds or so, the dps on the high crit should outclass any other non-crit base damage...should. I don't know if it does in this game, or if crit is simply broken.
The %burn and stuff like that is only on the sword, right? It doesn't effect any other burn sources, like Igni?
In the end, I guess this isn't useful without a training dummy to actually test this stuff.
oh, also, I haven't seen % Instant kill; only % dismember, which is instant kill in this game, correct? are those stats part of your cheat build/cheat weapons...so weapons that don't actually exist in the release build without shenanigans?
if so....I wonder why they are actually being discussed?
