Not really..there is so much crap in the game, you can dump most of it at any time and have no problem finding more when you need it.

All they are doing is dumbing the game down taking out the tedious stuff that either shouldn't have been there to begin with or was meant to be tedious as part of the gameplay mechanic of "do I take this or not".

But you don't know what the crap is do you? Not to mention to upgrade a lot of the gear you need the earlier version in your inventory, which is a real problem for heavier items.

If part of their game design is being tedious on purpose, then that's no fun. No one likes fighting with their inventory. Plus it's not remotely "realistic" anyway. I'm pretty sure you don't carry about everything you own on a day to day basis.

That's kind of my point. They tried to emulate TES / FO3 way of inventory and world crap. Since everything is more or less spelled out for you (from very early on) there's not really a sense of wonder when it comes to items and crafting. What you end up with instead is a lvl30 sword at lvl5 that you can't do anything with for half the game.

I've paid almost 0 attention to the items to be crafted. I just equip the highest damage / armor I find and roll with it and dump/sell everything else.

I'd rather have stores to buy items than the way they are doing it.

Sounds like you would prefer a game without crafting altogether. The craftsble items, mainly the witcher gear is in most circumstances the best gear available. Once I got my first set of witcher armor (griffin I believe) I didn't equip anything else until I made a set from another school at a slightly higher level.

Crafting is almost always tedious and a time sink for games. If you wish to avoid it you can certainly clean your inventory out of a lot of stuff that's weighing you down.

I hate how the guards are freakin god-like. Especially the pikeman. You can beat regular guardsmen if you know how to block right but the pikeman just freaking stun you and smash right through your guard.

This is why I still love Baldur's Gate series. If you were a high level badass you could take on the guards. In this game end-game Geralt get's 2 shotted by some random guardsman and 1 shotted by random pikemen and instantly loses his max-level quen in 1 glancing blow from some weekend warrior yet can tank multiple hits from a giant bear. Makes sense.

I also love it when I see bandits fighting the guards in Novigrad or whatever. I join in thinking to help the guardsmen because it looks like they are having trouble. I help dispatch the bad guys, but my sheathing animation is too slow after the fight. Guard turns around while I'm trying to put my swords away (who a minute ago was struggling with a bandit) and 1 shots you and you lose half your gold. Lmao. 15 years later and Baldur's Gate 2 is still the gold standard in faction (friendly/enemy/neutral) AI. Sad stuff.

You can't block any kind of two-handed weapon in the game, regardless of the mob level.

But I like how, when you inevitably lose to a guard, you wake up with the message "You have lost coin." ....and it turns out you have lost all your coin no matter how much you had. ...I assume this is a bug?

I never really had any trouble with the guards,I had a warning or two to sheath my sword but that is about it.

I play Geralt like a neutral Witcher most of the time, politics and getting involved is not a Witcher thing .

There is one area of novigrad that always has a witch hunter picking a fight. He is like 10 levels higher than me too lol. Whenever I walk by I get attacked. I remember intervening on someone's behalf when they were being accosted by them but dunno if it is a bug that he remains there waiting to ambush me every time.

Hmm so your saying any time someone threatens you in the city you just run away like a little girl so the guards don't get involved? That's one way to play I guess.

Nope and don't assume without facts to back you up,I'm saying if bandits try anything they get killed by me(and that has happened many times in Novigrad back streets etc) the guards don't bother me.I've even saved a few local civilians without issues from guards,if I get threaten I stand my ground like a real Witcher.
Witch hunters I've killed plenty of those.

For the record the only real time you have to run away is when you are fighting a very high level monster, for example I ran into level 48 monster and obviously first time instant death ,second time after reload no choice but to run away, bet you have ran away from some high level mobs, anybody that has not has either died or is lying.

Guards however in general leave you alone unless you do something really stupid in front of them.

FYI I have done virtually every quest and finished the game,(only two I did not complete due to bugs, final horse race and Gwent).

Not sure about all the money, but I know a BUTT TON of it. For example one time I tried for fun to attack the guards i ha 60,000 and when i was done i was down to something like 12,000

I may have attacked them 2 or 3 times

Only time can be a little tricky if you are fighting local street bandits and guards join in to help you,you have got to be careful you don't hit the guards, especially with spells etc...

I got a 2.2Gb update today thinking it was the 1.07 patch. It turned out to be a 500MB artwork PDF in different languages. . It looks good though.

Hah geez this game. The ? on the map drive me nuts. I've spent 6 or 7 hours the last two days doing what seems like absolutely nothing because I need to clean up that map and my quest logs secondary quests. I'm only level 13 and still in Velen. Think it's time to move along to another area and get back on the main track before I go a little crazy...

that sounds about right. I only started the final series of missions about 190-200 hours in.

And I only played Gwent, maybe 4 times.

While waiting for the big patch 1.07 patch I started playing Witcher 2 from the beginning again(third time),finished it and done every quest, once you play TW3 amazing how small W2 is on playing time.

Just beat the main story line a couple nights ago. This single game was better (to me at least) than the Mass Effect trilogy, and I LOVED that series.

Maybe it just reminded me of Mass Effect 1 with the free roaming that I missed? I don't know but I do know the story/twists were amazing.

One question though. The game time listed under the character stats/details; is that real time or game world time?

Why what is the problem with the game

Nothing really, I'm looking forward to the UI changes and player stash mainly since its going to make it less tedious to craft and store things. I here some performance improvements are also coming as well which hopefully provides a more stable frame rate.

Main problems are still a few bugs to fix,I've two quest related that stop me from doing anything.

The developers have already stated it's going to be a big patch so that should tell you something.

Having a personal inventory chest is always nice as well, something that they should of included in the game from the start just like it was in Witcher 2.

I hope its about turning geralt from a retarded monkey into something ~ shadow of mordor - handling wise.
I am enjoying the game, but common, he's running into every god damned thing there is to fumble into. Given how the momentum of his movements works/handles and the boolean nature of a pressed key you will need a 'little help' to get going in a natural way.
