I have a question - I've had this game since launch but I didn't play it I waited for a 21:9 monitor to fully appreciate the game but shortly after plugging in the monitor I had a leak in the WC and my 980Ti burned and now I replaced it with an another so it's time to play.
The game is from polish producers, does that mean that the original dialog is in polish and English is just a translation? I always try to play and watch everything in their original language. I'm wondering if I should play the game in polish or should I play it in English?
How is the voice acting quality in the English dub?
Another question, should I start the game with the DLCs already installed can I buy them later? Is there any new content that I can access at the begging of the game in the DLCs?
This is your first Witcher Game I take it? While not a requirement to enjoy this one, I recommend playing Witcher 2 first for at least some background story and a better introduction to the politics and general BS going on in this story.
None of the US releases of these, that I know have, have Polish language dialogue...perhaps that can be turned on, but I have no idea. The translations are always excellent and voice acting for these are generally second to none. You would lose nothing by trying to listen to polish language versions. I guess it depends on which language you prefer, if your version has that option. The English version is not a direct translation, afaik, as bad translations tend to be. I believe the script was written in English for English-speaking audiences.
I will say though that I'm one of those that wanted to like the first 2 Witcher games but could never get into them--I did go back to Witcher 2 some years later to force myself through it, ahead of this game's release, and did enjoy it a bit more....but it has it's issues (the game is on rails, BS quick time events, a mess of nonsensical political bollocks) but is otherwise quite excellent.
Witcher 3 is phenomenal, though. I can't think of a better game in the last 5 or 6 years on any platform. (maybe I'm forgetting something, or simply something I never played).
DLCs will install anyway. and the actual DLC (the free stuff that comes default with the base game), are very useful and part of the game from the beginning. They amount to a few armor sets, skins, decent quests. Those armor sets are very helpful early on and later on.
The expansion packs that you have to purchase separately involve a ton of new content that is basically end game story stuff, but I also think that they introduce new tiers of items that are active throughout....I could be wrong but most of those items and skills are technically endgame as well, due to level requirements?
