OK right, I do recall there was some reason that I imagined them all to be old, not just what I expected. Probably some dialogue here and there, and I know the white hair wasn't so much about age as it was witchering....but that was also unique among witchers--in the games, anyway?

....I mean, 97. But I guess if you are aging slower, and you got peeps hitting 300, your 97 maybe looks like my 28? lol.

I know there was some recent dialogue I encountered where the NPC said something along the lines of "THAT Geralt of Rivia? I figured you'd be dead by now" and something about hearing the tales when he was a kid.

It's very, very good.

I'm kinda shocked how good it is. I know nothing of the books and the stuff outside of the video games, but this story is the tits.

Very well-cast, too.

Wish they told you about the time jumps as often times they were not explained very well and made some of the episodes very confusing.

Seems like a lot of the negative reviews had this issue also.

Up to episode 4. I like it, but it has some problems.

Negatives for me: The different timelines could have been handled better. The whole situation in episode 1 was kind of glossed over/rushed. The Nilfgaard armor. Not enamored over Triss casting so far, but will see how it goes. Seems like someone that is not familiar with the game or books would be completely lost.

Positives: Yen and Geralt have been great. Ciri seems fine so far. Fights and monsters have been excellent. Jaskier (Dandelion) is good comic relief.

yes, that is my one major gripe. It is very confusing, and it doesn't really get better. I think I was through an entire episode without realizing it was the past. ...and damn thing starts in the past, suddenly present, past, ...past? present maybe...past and I think again, present.

It is difficult to follow.

I think Triss is underutilized in this season. With the timeline, though, I guess it makes sense. I assume she would be far more involved in the next season (god, I hope there is one).

and not sure if it was that episode or earlier, but when we first see the Cintran queen, I thought she had a twin...queen? sister of the realm? It looked like they were debating each other at the same table. Those shots where kind of weird, though, because you'd get a medium shot of two people, and it would like like 4 people were sitting across form each other, but it was really just one table with 3 people that we were watching. so yeah..editing and some mis en scene issues

...also, I'm watching it again because the timeline confused me so much. ...and you notice things really early on--characters that you didn't know where main characters, where they were at the time, in tiny moments. ..I just noticed now. This really helps with what is going on.

Awesome, and hopefully it gets more episodes. This one could have used more, and I rarely say that. This isn't garbage writing, and from the credits, it looks like they use people that are already well-invested in the material.

Hmm, that dragon hunt episode was kind of bad. Why have Yen suddenly fighting with swords? Budget constraint? Whole thing felt like an episode of Hercules/Xena (not terrible shows, but come on).

Overall I would give it a 7/10. The multi-timeline doesn't really work IMO, just makes things kind of confusing. It would have been better to keep things linear with a flashback episode or two. Introducing the Cirri story at about episode 4 or 5 might have been better.

All the casting has been good overall, still a bit up in the air over Triss, though I have a soft spot for her character from the game, so I might be biased. Cavill is spot on as Geralt, his fights are great. Yen works for the most part. The world building is great so far. I look forward to season 2.

I liked it, more importantly my wife liked it as well. She never played the games but saw me play them over the years.

I didn't pick up on the timeline jumps until ep 2 or 3 when Triss was in two places at once. Then it all clicked but I had to keep it straight for my wife. By the end though everyone was caught up so I am hoping the time jumps are done now. I liked all the casting except for Triss she just seems wrong but maybe that is a book/game difference.

Pretty sure the time jumps are done. This was apparently mostly a setup season built off short stories and book historical bits and now it'll be the straight anthology.

Geralt and Yen literally lived together for over a year (Which was 3 years before the search for the dragon). It just doesn't detail their day to day lives. But the books state that they were constantly getting back together and then separating.

The time jumping needed to have just a little time/place placed at the bottom of the screen and it would be so much more clear. But it should be all done with the exception of maybe some flash backs to some of the other short stories next season.

The books actually do not spend much time describing the battle at sodden. And I do not recall the detail saying if it was triss or yen that did the fire, only that Yen vanished after the battle, and triss was badly burn on her chest.
