I don't know if i'm 100% impressed w/those temps or not. I guess because i'm not that familiar w/how hot that particular chip used in testing runs.

I take you haven't looked through this thread just yet...

Anyways, yeah, the IFX-14 isn't exactly anything too new, and I'm pretty sure its far more of a niche product than just about any of the 120mm towers as I'm pretty sure this thing is intended to have as many 140mm behemoth fans strapped to it as possible (judging from the otherwise unjustifiable performance without) - meaning loud.

The pictures speak for themselves, lol. That's the craziest thing I've seen since... actually I can't think of anything crazier. It just came out, too. The review is from 2008-02-11 (feb 11th 2008).

Definitely crazy. But it has been out for a while now, just not as highly publicized as the TRUE.

maily because the performance isn't quite as good, it costs more, teh IFX-10 thats included is incompatible with quite a few of the new cases, 140mm fans haven't caught on as fast as they were hoping despite antecs efforts and the IFX-14 main heatsink is just gargantuan, not fitting in a lot of cases. Not to mention it's incompatible on just about every board out right now when used with their more popular IFX-HR03 chipset coolers. It gets even mere crowded when someone wants to fit an HR-05 GPU cooler, an HR-03 chipset cooler and one of their heatsinks. I'm pretty sure you could pull if off if you let the HR-05 use up your PCI slots, get the HR-03 SLI and put it up against the back of the graphics card, the IFX-14 and the IFX-10 up top if you had the right case. Atleast that wat you wouldn't have to worry about what your motherboard looks like.

I do have to say though, fitting a pair of ultra-kaze's to this thing would be pretty interesting.

Hey - why don't we just skip that whole case thing altogether. It's overrated. With this thing, your entire system will be encased in metal anyway.

sounds like fun huh? Accept that when you're spending that much on cooling, you may as well go water. MCR320, MCP355, Microres, MCW60 and D-tek fuzion or apogee GTX won't cost you much more.

since i got the tt ultra120x i have recommended it to 3 builders. each has responded when they received it with a 'HOLY SHIT THIS THING IS SO BIG!'

but it has fit in each case with each mobo and has worked like a charm.

not as big as this heatsink but its still big. as long as it is secured correctly and fits on most atx mid-tower setups, who cares
