Does anybody know anything about the "new" Thermalright SP-97? It looks like the SLK 900A but with 3 heatpipes. Does this cool much better than the already great SLK 900A? and is it worth the $54 on sidewindercomputers.com?
If you already have something like a slk800/900 then there really is no reason to get this. Unless you happen to be one of those who always want the best. And there are some like that.
Plus, socket a is being phased out and we'll be moving to athlon64, which requires new heatsinks/mobo's.
There's a comparison review of the SP-97 and SLK900 as well as other Thermalright heatsinks over at SilentPCReview.com. That test shows the SP-97 cooling a few degrees better than the SLK900. Whether that amount of cooling is worth $50 more is your call.
