You're in Ontario, it's cold outside. Could you take the train somewhere? Get some sandwiches, cheese, coldcuts, manzanilla olives, etc. Fill a thermos with wine for descretion and take the train somewhere. Snack on the train and see the sights at your destination.
Things I've done on dates. Go to the beach with food and booze. Build a fire and scoop it away after awhile. Place foil wrapped food where the sand is hot, corn, meat, seafood, or whatever. Place some sand on top of the foil. Replace fire, let the food cook about an hour, then eat. I've also thrown a pot of clam chowder near the flames.
Hike with gf to a rocky beach at low tide. Pick up lots of mussels. Steam the mussels in water and wine. Melt butter and fry up garlic with it. Have fresh bread and wine handy. Dip the mussels and bread in the garlic butter while enjoying sips of wine. Serve a Gewurztraminer cold. I have a lot of camp stoves which makes this stuff easy to do. I think I have like 6 different stoves now.
