Thinking of Selling my Wii...

I have a Nintendo Wii and I really do not play it at all anymore... I looked at the games out for the Wii right now and nothing sparks my interest at all... even the upcoming games do not spark any interest.

Any reason why I should hold onto the Nintendo Wii such as a game I may have overlooked or anything?

I feel the same way. I am probably going to throw mine on ebay this weekend.

We liked sports, had quite a bit of fun with it . Bought zelda + beat it.. Great game, but once I finished it, I will never play again. Every other game I have rented, I have been less than impressed with the game/control.

I bought mine for our 5 year old son, so he would quit bugging me to play the 360. He still only wants to play Viva Pinata, Superman(demo), Cars(demo), etc. Maybe I will use the cash to buy another 360, or check out the PS3.

I got a Wii and 360 and I just plan to stick with my 360 as there are alot of titles I am looking forward too and alot more I am still tring to beat que'ed up on my GameFly. As for the Wii... I once in a great while play a game I downloaded on my virtual console part of the Wii but still rarely play those.

I sold my Wii after beating Zelda. Got a nice profit out of it since the demand was (and still is) high.

I think that's the biggest problem with the Wii. It does not really appeal to medium to hardcore gamers that much in the long run. I would categorize myself as a medium gamer, and I found myself losing interest in the Wii rather quickly. It was cool in the beginning though.

I ended up buying a PS3 with 25% off.

I have had similar thoughts. I only have 1 official game for it, the rest are gamecube games but I don't own a gamecube so the wii stays.

EDIT: Will gamecube saves that are made on the wii work on a regular gamecube?

I think nintendo's making the same mistakes as they did with the gamecube. I really hope some better games come out soon. But... i've decided to keep my wii because i installed a wiikey in it. Also, I'll wait until at least seeing this coming fall's lineup of games.

Sounds similar to a couple of friends of mine. Tried out the Wii at a party, and loved it. Bought it (after weeks of searching), and after 2 weeks, bored with them and got rid of them.

I really can't see why any big developer would want to jump on the Wii, when graphics are so limited now, and will be even more so in the future. When they can develop games in fantastic resolution and graphics for the PC, 360, and PS3.

The remote is the biggest hamstring for me. Most of the time it only works intermittently.

I would say sell it while u can get some profit, and if better games come out you can rebuy it when they're easier to find somewhere down the road. I had the same feelings as the people here on the Wii. It's neat at first, but it doesn't really have lasting appeal for me.

I think I will sell mine then and just go back to gamecube until more good games come out.

I do it. I got my Wii when it first launched and i picked up everything for it. 3 games, 2 remotes, nunchucks and classic controller. I ended up selling it a month later and making huge profit on it. I was fun at first but it gets old very quickly. i just stuck with my 360.

Doesn't that mean the development costs for the Wii would be lower (hypothetically)? A large install base + low developments costs = You guessed it... profit!

I don't want to sound like a graphic whore but visuals do come in to play for a great gaming experience. I think Nintendo should have at least implemented a GPU capable of 720p with ease with the Wii.

Let someone who really wants it but can't find one in stores have it. Then buy a new one later when there are more games out that you want to play. You probably won't lose any $$. It'll be a win-win situation for both parties.

Would the install base be larger than PC, 360, and PS3? Very few developers or publishers are exclusive to a console, unless the console manufacturer offers them great incentives.

I pretty much have a buyer lined up already. Where hes from, they are completely sold out, so I basically get to sell it for what I got it for.

Though im still kinda debating...

I wonder if I could get ~$300 for it, then sell my monitor for ~$150, and pick up a 2407.

the PS3 has lost a lot of its *exclusives* ... GTA-IV will release also on 360 ... even EA is scaling back its profit forecasts because of the disappointing PS3 sales.

otoh, many more developers are getting interested in the Wii because of its strong sales ...
it is currently selling 4 to 1 over the PS3 in Japan

as to graphics ... the PC is the undisputed winner

as to the OP, heck ... sell it ... you won't lose anything .... and rebuy it when games appeal to you at a lower cost.
