third party file managers

are there any third party file managers that allow a user to que up actions prior to actually doing them?

for something like massive and complex copy/paste actions, transfers across a network where a proper FTP server/client session is an impossibility, etc. but still maintaining that kind of user interface.

is there anything like this?
