Canada would hurt for sure, but then again Canada has everything one could think of, except for Citrus fruit, but I'm sure that could be survived. Canada is still the US's #1 Trading partner, a lot of that Trade involves Parts of Manufactured Goods produced within the US.

I don't think 30 millions people would die if we don't trade with the US. Look at Vietnam (20 years embargo) & Iraq (10+ years embargo) that was bombed back to the pre industrial age ++ the trade embargo and the people still survive. And, the only nation that we worry about invasion is the US, because no one would invade such a rich/large country that sits between the US.
