It would be mixed. Canada would hurt more than the US, but the US would be affected significantly as well. If the US did it to hurt Canada, Canada could turn off the taps(Oil and Natural Gas) and shutdown the Lines(electricity) and hurt the US een more.

Canadian dollar would worth 0.25-0.40 to the US dollar. However, the US would be hurting for oil/water/radium. It would take Canada sometime to get back on its feet, but we would eventually be a stronger nation than we are now because our commerce is more divert between many other nations.

There's simply zero way Canada could survive as a country without economic trade with the US, and our military protection. Delusional to say anything different if not downright insane!

I don't think 30 millions people would die if we don't trade with the US. Look at Vietnam (20 years embargo) & Iraq (10+ years embargo) that was bombed back to the pre industrial age ++ the trade embargo and the people still survive. And, the only nation that we worry about invasion is the US, because no one would invade such a rich/large country that sits between the US.

The US would never invade Canada, and you know that. All rhetoric aside the companies have heavy trade, and although relations have been a bit strained lately they are still quite good. I didn't say anyone would die, but your countries economy would literally die. Look at what the Great Depression did the the US and the World when economies decided to collapse. The logistics of switching all US imports to other foreign imports would take years to do. Sure, I'd imagine food and the like would be sustainable, but other resources and finished products would take awhile to have new suppliers, get them shipped, and of course prices would increase. There is simply zero prudent reason for Canada to believe it could stop imports/exports from the US. It would be very detrimental to the US economy, and cause a complete collapse of the Canadian economy. This isn't rhetoric, but simply economic truth.
