I keep getting annoyed with XP and insert a Win98se floppy;and then,
type A:\format c:
I hate having 20 programs running, that I have no clue what they are.
With ME I can have 3 running,if I want.
I don't play any computer games besides Solitaire.
I run Seti@home in the background.
I usually have Zonealarm,on,and Mcafee antivirus, but can turn them off easy.
Thanks for trying to help a caveman.

You, sir, need to trade in your undoubtedly hugely expensive computer, you don't use it.

Yikes - just looked in my Task manager. That's pretty much a list of background tasks - although I did have firefox running at the time.
Thing is, I actually use them all - took me ages to work out what they are all supposed to do though.

Only due to the distributed computing project. That could go, but it doesn't seem to harm anything, and might be interesting so it can stay. For now.

This is such a fanboy thread, here's proof. 8 windows open with ie6 and firefox, firefox takes up more memory. And no, tabbed browsing doesnt help.

It's okay! Just go here and they'll set you right.
Or you could go to OldVersion.com and download IrfanView, a very nice image editing/saving program.

After you install Microsoft Office 2000 and have chosen to install all of the graphics filters, you may not see the following filters in the Save as type list in Microsoft Paint./
