I don't know about the innate skills part...they said he spends 2 hours in the gym each day and his father has been teaching him starting with the basics for quite a while now.

While yes, not everyone would get as good as he, I wouldn't call that an innate skill.

The two handed basketball stuff can't be trained to anyone.. Neither can those 3 point shots (if they're consistent)

Hand eye coordination isn't something that can be taught. On some levels you can 'train' your hand-eye skills, but IMO this kid is a natural.

Yeah if he's that skilled by now and grows to a decent height, I'd imagine he'll be a shoe in for at least a college scholarship if he keeps up this type of work ethic.

Good for the kid, that shows a ton of determination. Hopefully he has some other skills though; white guys just can't play basketball. Everyone knows this.

SpatiallyAware you can definitely teach a shot. I'm not a natural shooter at all but I used to shoot 1000 shots after practice every day and now when I play pick up it's not a question I am the best shooter on the court...

and this kid is definitely good. I was going to say all those moves don't mean anything though if he can't play and then they showed him playing. Looks good. It's a shame he won't go anywhere though unless he gets 6'+ and matures early. His dad should hold him back a year... wish mine did

i should mention tho, in the college and nba level, those fancy dribbling moves dont really fool too many guys. to get by someone you need to be explosive with speed. he needs to focus on explosiveness, shooting, and court awareness too make it as a guard
