Thoughts on Sennheiser CX-500???

I am considering these as a replacement for the iPod ear buds. Does anyone have these? What do you think of them? Are they comfortable? How do the highs, mids, and lows sound? How well do they block out outside sounds?

I owned the cx300s and, based on what I've been reading on headfi, the cx400s and 500x have similar sound signatures. I liked them at first but the bass was just all over the place. Sometimes muddy, sometimes punch as hell. Overall, they're a great step up from the included buds but there are better options out there.

I got a cheap set of ultimate ears that sound better, and head fi geeks love these:

My wife uses the CX300 and likes them a lot. We are still a mixed house with the rest of us still using MX400. Nobody would claim the MX400 is the greatest, but it is a clear improvement over typical so I recommend them as a good reference set. Your ears need to unlearn the distortions cheap headphones use to sound louder, punchier or whatever before you can appreciate good clean sound.

Good sound, especially bass has a lot to do with how it fits in your ear, and that will vary from person to person.
