Also, what cases would you recommend for water cooling? - I quite like thermaltake..

Cheers
Justin.

hi and welcome to the forums.

I highly recomend you piecing out a setup instead of getting a KIT.
Its not difficult to piece one out and if you do some digging, you'll see that there are a lot of members who was/is in your situation.

I highly recomend you do some reading as well about watercooling b4 you decide to get your feet wet.

Thanks for the reply, I have read the newbies guide and quite a few threads.

Just want to get a feel where the swiftech stuff stands and what some other guys would recommend as a decent case without having to mod it.

Eg, is it worth the money for the kit above.

Else if anyone wants to piece me a kit from the above website (or another good australian based site) for around $300

well the traditional question would be.
How much you looking to spend total Jmac? Is 300 AU dollars? or US dollars?

With that we could piece you out something nice.

Also what location are you primary located and will be doing shopping from? I mean country wise. I saw AU dollars, so im assuming you'll shop at an AU store?

Yes, I am looking for about $300AU ~250-280US I guess. - Thats for the watercooling gear.

I am also after a nice looking case that I wont have to tear apart to get it all mounted.

At the moment I have a antec 900, 4GB corsair dominator ram, q6600 over clocked to 3.2ghs, 8800gts (640mb) and a few drives.

The system is nice (but loud). I am after an efficient water cooling setup as I will be moving to a new motherboard and upgrading graphics when I move systems.
I plan on rigging it all up with a fan controller.

So, if anyone has some advice about an australian store that sells water gear and a case, or just what you think you should get for ~$300AUD that would be very helpful.

I have seen a few names around like danger den, swiftech etc but I am not sure what is quality and what is not.

I looked around and found very little for Australian stores selling WC supplies, That kit is the best I could find. Personally I would prefer a better block for the cpu but that is a solid kit. Swiftech is the only company I would buy a kit from. Aigos guide lists stores in the USA, some that ship internationally, contact them. I'll bet if you contact Petras or jabtech they will put together all the parts you need and ship in one package. If you check the threads in this section of the forum you will find several new builds, Evilsponge is the first that comes to mind, BTRY also, copy their parts list and you'll have a top notch build. This is mine, being new to water I would recommend using the 7/16" masterclear tubing. It's cheap so you can buy more than you need and it fits the barbs much easier.

Aigo may know of other stores, at XS there are many aussie members into water.

Welcome to the forums BTW!

3. Chilled PC - Moderate selection of watercooling components, with a large number of kits
4. Below Zero - Small selection of watercoling, but stocks most Silverprop products.
5. Flabbergast - They stock D-Tek, Swiftech, EK and XSPC Products.

The 1 and 2 are pointless.

ChilledPC.com.au and Flabbergast.com.au are probably the biggest in your area and where most people i help from your area will shop at.

So you understand you will need these basic parts right?

Cpu block
Pump <-- depending on pump, a top or top/res
Res/T-line
Tubing
Clamps
Liqiud Additives

Lets see how much you read. Start linking parts, and we'll make edits to it. When we give you the thumbs up, that means you pieced out a nice setup and your ready to buy.

starting out looking okey, however theres some tweeks you can do to it.

Change the system to 1/2, Get an Aftermarket TOP for the 355.

XSPC has a res/top combo that fits the 355. You can eliminate the MicroRes for that, and change your entire system to 1/2.

Absolutely,,,

My system uses 3/8 tubing but over 1/2" fittings, a real PITA if you haven't done this before. There is a flow reduction with the 3/8" tubing but minor, I do this only for appearance. If you can get the 7/16" zip ties can be used for clamps, the 1/2" is by far the easiest to use and remove for adjustments and also has the best flowrates.

I believe so , yes, you would need to put up a link, These are what I use most, Barbs listed as G1/4 (thread) x 1/2 (barb) are typical. The 7/16" that is referred to in my link is one of the few that give you the ID of the barb, most simply refer to the tubing ID.
